I love this show - I know I cannot be the only one.
What did you guys think of the season 3 opener?
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish they would have kept Pam and Jim a secret from the rest of the Office. It was obvious to me from the beginning (Pam's hair change was a give-away) that they were now dating; but it would have been neat to see the rest of the staff spy on them and try to figure out whether or not they were dating.
On the whole though, I did not like the episode. It was too serious. I couldn't find anything funny about Michael hitting Meredith with his car, nor did I find the death of Angela's cat amusing.
I did, however, find it amusing that Meredith might have rabbies from the bat bite she received last season.

I love this show...it's a battle between it and Heroes right now for my favorite TV show. I agree that the PB&J secret should have been kept alittle bit longer. Last season I was kinda rooting for Karen and Jim, but now that Pam and Jim are finally a couple I realize why people rooted for them all along...as cheesy as it sounds....they are such a cute pair. I feared that after the hookup things might get stale from a story aspect...like alot of shows do when they finally give the audience what they want....but I see alot of potential storywise in their relationship that should be very entertaining to watch.
I do have to disagree with you about the Ep as a whole, I really enjoyed it. The Meredith getting hit with the car thing wasn't funny in itself, but the way Michael and the rest of the office handled the situation was highly entertaining to me. The rabies thing was gold...Sprinkles death was alittle weak, but Dwight makes me laugh no matter what his storyline is.
"You don't know me, you've only seen my penis." Wise words indeed. :D

I love the show to death, but I was disappointed by the new ep. It was funny, certainly, but it's the first time that it felt a little 'sitcommy'. First show out of the gate, I would've liked them to take a few more chances.
I also would've liked to have seen (or heard) more from Andy (or Drew). I don't think he had a single line in the first half of the show.

Yeah, but Andy's chafed nipples thing was hysterical!
I too like this show and watch religiously. It took a while to grow on me, but I love the characters.
I don't think their fellow co-workers know yet about Jim and Pam, just the documentarians. So I think we'll get more guessing and speculation in the office.
And I can't wait to see Ryan return as Michael Scott's boss. Those encounters are going to be priceless.
The secret relationship was already there with Angela and Dwight, so I don't mind them bringing PB&J into the open with the film crew. I didn't like the sprinkles story line though. I'm cheering for Dwight and Angela more than PB&J, so I don't want to see the rift between them.

I'm sorry, I love cats and all, but the reference to torn french fry bags in the freezer had me howling......Andy's nipples. When he drafted behind Kevin and ran into him I about died, but when they were bloody I lost it. I almost woke the baby.

One of the things that I love most about the Office are the DVDs!!
The Bloopers!! The Commentaries!! The extras - Kevin Cooks Stuff in the Office!!!
Do any of you have the Season 3 dvds? If you don't - you must get them NOW!
I'm interested to see where the Jan/Michael relationship goes and what happens with Jan's sanity now that she's out of a job.

Yeah, I bought the collectors edition or whatever that came in a Dunder Mifflin paper box with a Dundie and a Dwight bobble-head. I haven't had the chance to watch any of it yet, but the Dundie and the bobble-head are sitting on my desk at work.

Two vasectomies and a reversal. Snip snap snip snap, heh.
Good episode, funny and dark which is the way I like 'em. Discovering that Michael sleeps on a bench at the foot of Jan's bed did it for me. Then he curls up on it! Love his total submission to the woman. I'm also loving Ed Helm's character a lot more.
Good stuff.

I liked the episode too - but I do think this season has been a little bit too dark - Michael's life is falling apart to such an extreme that it's bordering on unfunny to me.
I love that Michael told Jan he dated Pam and it was hilarious when Angela played along with it.

Yeah, it does seem to be moving to a more awkward place, more in step with the original Brit series. I'm enjoying it so far. I agree that Michael's personal life is pathetic and his relationship with Jan is absolutely unhealthy, but the man is a cartoon. His eccentricities in and out of the office are where the writers mine their gold. But you can only take so much of a character like that. To keep him grounded they have to mix over the top Michael with a somewhat more subdued and sympathtic character, like the one we saw in the last episode. I think its this balance that keeps the show from slipping into more predictable territory.
Makes me giggle like an idiot, anyway. I'm still smilling over Andy coming out with "Hey, Big Tuna. You must be sick of tuna every night, tuna, tuna..."
I was actually disappointed that the episode didn't take place . . . IN THE OFFICE! :D
