Alright, I do not know about anyone else but I was into the X-Files tv show from the second it aired on tv. My dad and I would sit down every Friday night and watch the series....
When the movie came out I was not that impressed. Of course I honestly have not seen it since it came out around 10 years ago and the only thing I remember about it was some sort of bee attack....Somethin'....
Still...I am pretty excited about this! Mulder and Scully are some of the coolest characters to come to the tv screen.
Even though I recognize that the series was alien based, I am hoping they do something completely different then that. I loved the X-Files episodes that had nothing to do with the alien abduction of his sister and the episodes were just off the wall awesome!!
So, any fans of the series and what do you guys think about this new movie!?
I was a big fan of the show . . . for the first seven seasons. They really should have ended the show then. Mulder got abducted. Barren Scully was pregnant. When they came back the next year, it just wasn't the same.
I'm leary, but open-minded.

I'm in. The TV series was great. I agree with Bark that the show anchored after
season 7. Mimi Rogers :puke:
Hopefully the movie will deal with the paranormal, sans alien conspiracy. Some neat real world stuff has happened since the show signed off.
 N
My bf and I have been watching the show again, because I missed a lot when it was originally on. I thought the movie was pretty good. :Dunno: We're halfway through season 5 right now, and honestly, the episodes where they don't deal with the alien conspiracy feel like filler. I would skip them entirely if I didn't enjoy Mulder and Scully's interaction.

One of my favorite all time X-Files episode is The Great Magato (Something like that...) I love that episode. The entire episode was filmed in black and white to give it that weird feel. It is episodes like that, that made me fall in love with this series....

The X-Files, while at it's best before the movie, was the best show on TV. I loved it, I remember watching it when it was on back-to-back with Brisco County Jr. I still watch it whenever I get the chance on reruns. The first movie was good, and this one hopefully will be too.

I came to the show late, but really enjoyed it once I got into it and caught up to watch the last few seasons as they aired. I liked the first movie, and would go see a second. Mulder and Scully were great characters.

David has been hot on "Californication" and wasn't Dana in a movie recently "The King of Scotland". She looks totally different then when she was in the series.
But, I am looking forward to it. I love some Mulder and Scully action.

wasnt Mulder NOT an FBI Agent at the end of the series?
I REALLY thought that they'd turn Mulder into the next Deep Throat and have Scully contact him for tips with an "X" on the apartment window... that would have been a great twist and a great ending to his character plus a way to keep Fox Mulder active on the show while David Duchovney wasnt actually on the show. Theres nothing like an old friend playing an underground Shadow agent to assist Scully.

That would have been pretty cook, Mck.
I am just happy that they are finally bringing back these two FBI agents. I grew up watching this show and I could see them doing no wrong with this movie.
In the article on the main page they discussed it not being a Alien type of movie like all the other episodes did....Thoughts on this?

not being an Alien centric episode will definitly be good, I've heard rumors that its paranormal... like [UPDATE: 3 spoiler photos where obtained from a spy that reported them to joblo.com and have revealed... not Demons, not Ghosts, not Hauntings]. Chris wanted to get these two back on the big screen but didnt want to tie it back to the 9th season so he's worked up some kookie idea of something... big, and paranormal seems a good place to start over. :D
I hope this movie succeeds and opens the door for more X-Files movies. Doing a movie durring the series and doing the movie ABOUT aliens I think people OD'ed on it all. it was jut too much, too many dangling threads and unexplained explanations and Scully wasnt nearly seeing as much as we'd hoped she saw which kept her as a skeptic for 9 years, which was fairly unbelievable since she witnessed Alien type stuff back in the early seasons bu was still a non-believer. (skeptic)
wouldnt it be funny to see Mulder and Scully leading an FBI training/recruiting school for future X-File agents? Their fieldtrips would be histerical..
Mulder: "Now kids, for todays fieldtrip, we're going to an abandon barn in Roswell, New Mexico where the military is hiding an ET and spaceship and our goal is to take the alien, his name is Bob, and dismantle the ship and bring it back to Quantico for review.. then our guys will bury it." :D
I wouldn't mind a sequel to Jose Chung.

Jose Chung's story was finished in Millenium.. they did a follow up and finished off the character... personally I thought it was a lot lamer than the Jose Chung episode of X-Files
