My basic pocket Every Day Carry (in addition to keys, wallet and money clip) is the trekker model space pen, an ARC flashlight and a 4 gig Cruzer thumb drive (all on the carabineer that came with the space pen), and a victorinox Swiss army knife (soldier version).
What do you have in your pockets (or purse)?

Good topic!
Well, wallet. Keys, sure. 2 phones, blackberry for email and regular for calls, portfolio bag with 10 lbs of work stuff, forms, manuals, folders, etc. Shades for driving.

Wallet, credit cards, medical cards, car insurance cards, tylenol, stamps, shades, chapstick, keys, cell phone.
When it is that time of the month you will find other stuff in there.

In my car I keep a baseball bat, jacket, and running shoes. No, I haven't played sports in a long time. In my purse (which I hate) I keep an extra lip gloss (addiction), a knife, cigarettes, 2 lighters, and my cell. When I carry a diaper bag, it has diapers, wipes, clothes, and plastic utensils.
Funny, it seems like I am carrying around much more than that. :Dunno:

Wallet, Car keys, Ipod, cell phone, pager and badge.
When I'm not working it's the same list minus the badge and pager.

The standard purse stuff with wallet, keys, pad and pen, and at least one bottle of water. In my car, I have a rain coat, umbrella and a towel along with all the usual car stuff (jumper cables, antifreeze, oil, ice scraper).

I'm a business news editor. I use the pencil to write things down for my storyboard. My colleagues think I'm nuts because I could do it on the computer but my life is so full of keyboards, monitors and digital displays, something as simple as pencil on paper reminds me of a gentler time. I'm not a luddite, but I am from an era when typewriters, paper, pens and pencils were the only tools of the trade.
The practical reason for the pencil is I am left handed. If I use ink, it smears. If I smear a number, my day can go horribly south very fast.
Anyway ... that's me. I'll try to catch some of the show tonight. Knock em dead.

Aside from the usual wallet, cellphone, and keys and eyeglasses when I'm not trying to see (or sunglasses when I don't want to be blinded).....
crumpled cash
change
crumpled receipts
maybe a piece of free candy from a tray at a restaurant or the bank
candy wrapper (I hate to litter)
The chain that the keys go on, that's supposed to clip to my belt loop
perhaps a toothpick in a cellophane wrapper from a restaurant
wrapper from said toothpick
NO used toothpicks (they are organic and will return to the earth from whence it came)
A neat book of matches, if ay are offered at restaurants or whatever
Maybe someone's business card
A crumpled paper tape measure from Ikea
various crumpled pieces of paper with directions scrawled down on getting somewhere, a few lyrics from a song that I heard over a P.A. in a store or someplace, so I can go home and Google it to find out who it was, and if I am REALLY organized that day, a pen to write it down with, or a sharpened pencil from Ikea.

For thirty years plus, I used to carry a comb daily. Thursday I got a new haircut, which A) requires no comb - just 'product' and B) brings me into the New Millenium. the stylist said "Say goodbye to Mr. Rogers."

LOL. Welcome to the time of bedhead you can go to work with, Unc!
As for me, spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch. Well... almost.
My sunglasses are now required wearing on both directions of my commute when it's not overcast. I make sort of a hook shape during my commute to work that sends me both east and west.
My wallet, cellphone (watch since I use it as a clock also) and keys also go with me.

My purse is small right now. When it's big, it usually carries around just about everything I own.
- George Costanza wallet in blue duct tape (every coupon I've ever been given, receipts from May, etc. etc.)
- ancient cell phone
- tiny composition book
- red pen
- 2 paper clips
- handful of cough drops
- giant can of Aleve
- package of lighter flints
- old Zippo lighter with "Fraternally, Ben Johnston" on the back. (I don't smoke, I just live in fear of being stuck in a blackout or the woods or something.)
- giant janitor-style keyring.
- iPod.
- iClicker for biology class. It's kind of like a remote control I use to answer questions Dr. Fritz puts up on the board. I wish it hadn't cost $40.
- compact.
- giant hair clip.
- off-brand Swiss Army Knife. I need a new one.
- feminine hygiene products.
I'm really wondering how all that fits in my little clutch, but whatever. When I had a big ol' mom purse I carried around wire snips for nigh on a year, not to mention a can of Spam for a few weeks and multiple screwdrivers. I also usually carry around a day's supply of makeup when I've got room.

I actually haven't used a comb since maybe I was in 7th grade. All my haircuts since then have only required just a little bit of gel and my hands.

Water bottle
Notebook
Folder with various personal writings
Bus book
Book I'm currently reading
Floss
Scissors
Spoon
4 pens
2 lighters
2 flat head screwdrivers
Smushed nutri-grain bar
breath freshener
Batteries
Two gig flash
Bottle/wine opener
rolling papers
a doohickey for rolling tobacco
hi-lighter
switchblade
mirror
gauze
oil absorbing sheets

visine
In my car I have a big tub in the back:
First aid kit
Poncho
giant plastic sheets
portable battery jumper/tire inflator

2 containers of oil

Duct tape
Rope
Impact Wrench

I'm done, Outy. I don't want to press my luck any more than I already have. If I thought the doctors would tie my tubes, I'd do it in a second. In the meantime, I'm going with 2nd best, if you don't count abstinence. (Because who wants to go that route?)

You're right. :ohwell: it's true. It is lip gloss and yes, it's from a love affair from a time long ago, almost in another lifetime. I've never been able to get rid of it. But maybe, Mae is right, it's time to leave it all in the past. :goodbye:

You know... I was just looking for something in my purse and realized that I do carry my passport around with me. I'm not sure why it's in there, but I'm sure that when I finally decide that I've had enough and I miss my baby, Kradey too much, that I will flee at a moment's notice. So, it's probably a good thing that I have it handy.
I'm all about the Dr. Pepper Lipsmacker. I have about 6 at all times. I buy them out whenever I find them at a store, because I went through a scare about 3 years ago when I thought they weren't being made anymore.
Kind of like when those bastards at Mars stopped making Mars Bars and replaced them with those disgusting Snickers with Almonds.

Not the British version. Somebody here found me a website where I can buy those. The ones I want have almonds in them. I used to eat about 4 a day until they stopped making them.
