I'm one of the few, the proud, the ones stuck coming into an otherwise nearly empty building today.
Knowing I was coming in today, I staggered my worklaod as to allow me something to do today.
Instead, I'm posting. For now.
And I am counting the hours.
wow.
9am already??!!
Feels like at least 2-2:30ish.
It's gonna be a looooooong day.
At least the acoustics here are pretty damn decent. I can practice my Sinatra all day long, really loud.
I am waiting for the first loser to call me here - that one other person in this organization who like me, has to be here and figures they actually have a right to ask me a question that is work related. (actually - they do....).
Gods, I am bored.
I wish Captain Obvious was here to save the day.

Wow.
20 minutes later (feels like hours) and I am reduced to posting to myself.
Pumpkin pie in another two and a half hours.
Joy!

I'm at the campus location from twelve to five... wish me luck. I have no idea what to expect. Hopefully fewer screaming children, though, which is always nice.

Know what I hate?
The proliferation of banner advertising that features beautifully selected people in the throes of orgasmic delight as they relish the savings of 75% off on a KitcheAide food processor; 54" screen Plasma TV's or a $700 handbag.
Ooooooo - the exagerrated looks of pure bliss!
I like saving money as much as the next guy, but really - we are simply too consumer driven as a society. It's sad. Really.
All the talk of shopping today. The lines!! The traffic reports. The TV coverage. The 12:01 openings.
We are a fucked up people.

Not working unless you count all of the stuff I did around my mom's house this morning. Helped put up the huge tree, move furniture, change dust ruffles on two beds, clean out a closet, etc. Now I'm at home and I need to clean off my desk and do some laundry. I am also taking care of my neighbor's pets morning and night.

I worked until 10:30 this morning at Starbucks. I slept thru both alarm clocks and woke up 5 minutes AFTER I was supposed to be at work, with a Homer Simpson scream.
Throwing clothes on, carrying shoes, wearing Birkenstocks, and speeding until I got pulled over. :(
DId I mention yet in these last couple weeks how much I absolutely HATE LIFE?!

My sister's boyfriend had to opt out of the thanksgiving festivities early because he was working at one job from 2AM and 7AM this morning, and then his other job from 8AM to 6PM. We have no idea what he was thinking about. He probably passed the fuck out when he got home... or just started drinking.

I was working... but at a theatre... and in Canada... so it was not stressful at all. Just beginning the strike for our show. But I'm a dirty igloo living slacker and don't count.

Does dragging myself out of bed at 4 am and standing in line in 30 deree temps to mingle with other psychotic individuals count as work? :headscratch: Sure felt like work.
One of the beauties of working for a bank. We're never opened day after TG.
But thank you to all of you who did! And Bill......http://a5.vox.com/6a00c2252569968fdb00cdf7ecbfa5094f-500pi

Nope, no working today. That's the thing, most of my years in civilian radio, I usually worked on T-day. Now, since I've been lending my dulcet tones to Unca Sammy, haven't worked a T-day yet. Not saying it won't ever happen, but the military likes to really go out of it's way to let the joes off for the major holidays.
