Although it had been recommended years ago - only now - after complete disgust and frustration with Windows Vista, did I download Firefox 2.0....
I never felt I needed it when I was using Explorer and XP.
Now - WOW!!!!!!!
What an incredible NOTICEABLE difference in browsing speed!!! Pages are downloading so much faster!!!
I'm not a techie - but I swear by the promises of Firefox. I'm only on day one here with it. I'd like to see how it holds up in the weeks to come.
I did some online reading today, comparing the two browsers. Based on the objective reporting alone, I cannot believe Explorer is even on the marketplace anymore.

The only downside is to get it to work you must think in Russian.

:D i like it better too, my only frustration was that I cant figure out how to keep pages in the address bar history so I can get to them easier the next time I visit without typing in the URL again.... and i'm using IE on XP too.
IE is junk but its like McDonalds... junk is junk but we still eat it up.:D

I love firefox... IE just doesn't do it for me, but I have not noticed a huge difference in browsing speeds.

It's taken some time, I only grabbed Firefox becuase I specifically needed it for an application.
Now I am Soooooo hooked. IE just seems like such a piece of shiznit now that I am using Firefox for everything.
I have to use IE when signed into my work network, sucks.
.....Q: Think in Russian? :headscratch:

I've been using Firefox for five or so years and I don't know why anyone would go back to IE. I know, it's JUST a browser but when IE wasn't yet cribbing ideas from Firefox (tabbing, etcetera) I love customization and all the add-ons that I can heap on it.
Anyway, definitely get Adblock Plus as an add-on (with filterset.g). I use a couple of interesting add-ons like Distrust, which erases your surfing trails from your browser. Gspace, which converts Gmail into a file storage HD. Mouse gestures. Download Helper which makes it easy to download imbedded movie files on youtube and other video sites as FLV files.

Just got it. I had no idea. I stopped going to a bunch of sites because you had to wait forever to do stuff. This is great. Thx. N:)

Uh - oh.
Bad discovery.
First, I downloaded Firefox and noticed a huge difference in page download speeds.
I also noticed tha obnoxious stupid banners weren't popping up all over the place, especially on Yahoo and Livejournal.
What a sweet benny, I thought.
Then, I tried to open Traz's 'holiday' gift. I was given a prompt that I first needed to download Adobe Flash. No prob, I think.
Now that Flash is integrated with my FF, all these damnable animated banners and idiotic advertisements are slowing my FF browsing right back to where I was with IE.
Fucking advertising.
Fucking Capitalism.

Yeah. I mentioned that you need to get: Adblock Plus as an add-on (with filterset.g). They're two different add-ons. Go to tools and then to add-ons, then click on get extensions, and you just have to search for it. You will not see 99.9 percent of the ads.
