hey I hate Dr Phil as much as you do... more power to him for trying to help Brittney Spears... not that he is helping her, but I hope it hurts his ratings enough to get him off my damn TV set... Lavorius, I'm surprised you didnt mention his book... seems Dr Phil is always plugging his new book... his show is only an extended TV commercial to sell his book.
I saw it all before a few years back, back then his name was Geraldo Rivera... yup... trash talking A-Hole beat him in the face with a chair... at least Dr Phil hs his guests under control... but Oprah? She's still pushing "the secret"... they have some good parodies of her on youtube but I want her gone as well.
actually get rid of them all... I dont want therapy sessions on TV and I dont want to see OTHER PEOPLES PRIVATE therapy sessions aired on TV to help sell a book by Dr Phil...

And he has his own show now..for years now..outside of Oprah, right?

Where did this thread even come from anyway? A Dr. Phil thread in the Celebrities forum? Sure, I'll grant you...He's technically an effing celebrity but was this really needed?

Well, he has a PhD, but not in psychiatry or psychology, so he is a "doctor," just not in his practiced field, which makes him only marginally more credible than "Dr. Laura."

Well, while we're on the topic, let me tell you about my rant against that effin Oprah.

I'm at the mercy of broadcast DAYTIME TV here- bein' effin' sick and hacking up gobs of yellow phlegm. So I'm stuck with Oprah.

And I never really ever watch her - I have a brain.

But this other day, I was flipping through the five channels, and I saw she had a segment on SAVING THE PLANET.

Okay, that sounds noble - not too touchy feely. I listened.

Her guest speaker made a simple case that when we go to the grocery store - we can save BILLIONS AND BILLIONS (okay - maybe just a lot) of trees by NOT choosing paper bags.

We save the environment by rejecting plastic bags.

The SIMPLE solution? Bring your own cloth reusable bag with you to the store and have the baggers fill that instead.

Simple! Brilliant!! Anybody can - and should do this!!

And here's this egomaniac's contribution: Oprah has her own special green cloth shopping bag with her logo (nearly as large as her ego) which she will sell you all for only $9.95!!! She went out of her way to say that this merely reflects the cost - she is in NO WAY making money off of these - she just wants to do her part to save the planet.

Well.... my grocery chain - Krogers - sells these cloth grocery bags (granted they do not have the Oprah logo) for only............. ninety nine cents.

I dunno. I don't like her.

Unfortunately, Phil holds a PHD in Clinical Psychology and a Master's in Experimental.

However, he is a ratings' whore and all Britney needs is a swift kick in the ass.

I recycle my grocery bags, paper and plastic.

I tend to do my grocery shopping once - twice a month on a larger scale. I purchased locally 4 of the 99cent cloth bags and they hold the equivalent of a few of the smaller plastic ones. I love that I now have just one trip from the car to the house, carrying all four at once.

It's a practical solution all the way around.

I still collect plastic bags for picking up my dog's deposits.

Dr. Phil is an idoit. I lost all respect for him when he wrote his fat book....my opinion is if your fat don't tell fat people how to loose weight.

Plus he just seems like a two-bit used car salesman, slick philly...bleh.

As for Oprah, I stopped watching her a long long time ago. Her advice is almost always wrong or dumbed down to a four year old level.
