Ya know, it's about time they chose a Bond who actually has an athletic build. Guy doesnt need to be Arnold or Stallone, but if he's going to be a super-hero, he should look like he can at least handle himself.

And Kara, a womans view on him as he appears in those pictures, if you please ????

He's a "10!"
I think he looks pretty damn good as Bond. Thumbs up!

I was caught off guard, like anyone else, by the choice of Craig. But after having a moment to think about it, I think he could be fantastic. Again, grittier than any previous Bond actors. Not a pretty boy. I haven't been as happy about Bond casting since Dalton.
PS: I keep watching Batman Begins, and when I consider that this could have been the inspiration for "Bond Begins"... I'm very optimistic.

Not forgetting that both Daniel Craig and Christian Bale were known as good actors before taking on their biggest roles to date.
When I look at Craig there, with short, dark hair and having spent the last three months in training then think back to Craig as he was when unveiled to the press by the Thames in London (quite slim from Munich, still with his blonde hair in a 70's style from Munich etc.) I think this is moving in the right direction. And the "Craig Not Bond" crowd should acknowledge that.
More to the point, remember him in Tomb Raider ????

I have seen Layer Cake, parts of Tomb Raider, and Munich since he was cast. Previously, I'd only seen him in Road to Perdition, in which he played such a nasty, gutless weasel!
Layer Cake is the role you have to see if you want to decide yea or nay on him as Bond, as he plays a suave gangster. I think he is an excellent actor, but I don't get 'the vibe.'
That said, I imagine this is how a lot of fans felt when Dalton was cast (in my non-Bond period). What makes or breaks it is the film itself. He could easily pull a TLD and make me very happy.
As to how I like the pictures? Hot body, ugly face. And btw, there's a scene of him dancing in Munich; it's 1972, he's wearing appropriately tight jeans, and he looks GREAT from behind.

That outfit he's wearing in the plane photo is very Brosnan-esque.
As for the skimpy bathing suit... uh... are they going to recreate the Ursula Andress scene yet again???

Those pictures are very encouraging. They have a retro Connery era look to them. I've been devouring the Fleming books lately and I would love to see a small, rough and tumble Bond adventure, without laser beam watches, disappearing cars or satellites aimed at blowing up major cities.
And thanks for posting the Sun pics, DCD. He looks great in those, as well. I like the fact that Bond is getting down and dirty. ..in a non-sexual kind of way, that is.

Awesome body, don't really find him attractive, obviously the water was cold.

So all those girls were lying when they said size doesn't matter ???
It's quite good that they may be making an effort to get the "phwoar" factor back in Bond from the girls point of view as traditionally most of the eye candy has been for the boys. Also, by showing the "phwoar" to be a two way street, maybe they will be willing and comfortable to push some aspects of Bond's character back towards his 60's persona.

It's a Britishism I am afraid. Think back to Sid James in those "Carry On" films in the 60's, it's the noise one makes when you see somebody who could be described as "A bit of alright". It's a sort of more primeval, just as lecherous, wolf-whistle.

Although I'm sorry to see Brosnan leave , I think He's a great choice personally , and the naysayers will eat there words soon enough . . .
I'm also glad to see a good muscular build on bond. Connery had a nice build in the early yrs.

Agreed. Plus his head looks too small for his body, and his ears stick out. But I'll still give him a chance and watch the movie before judging him as Bond.

I think he's going to fit into the role quite nicely, given the chance. He does look good.
