Recommend some anime

I would love to get some recommendations on some anime to watch. I love good animation of all styles (An animator that loves animation? Crazy!), but it's hard to keep track of all that's out there.

Most of the anime that I've seen is the more popular, recognizable stuff. I loved Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. I've seen a lot of Samurai Champloo. I've liked every Miyazaki movie I've seen. I've seen movies like Grave of the Fireflies and Ghost in the Shell. I've seen a bunch of other stuff as well, but I'm not pulling any more specific titles out of my dusty brain at the moment.

So, what shows and/or movies should I look into watching?

Here's some recommends from me:

FLCL - Only 6 eps, but it's a lot of fun.

Ah! My Goddess - Nothing really heavy, just cute and fun.

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade - Interesting alt-history drama set in Japan about a police officer who falls in love with a terrorist who looks like her sister who blew herself up in front of him.

Only Yesterday - Great Miyazaki drama about a girl who spends the summer on a farm.

Perfect Blue - Trippy thriller about a pop idol who's got a stalker.

Metropolis - Based on the manga by the great Osamu Tezuka.

Iria: Zeiram the Animation - Cute bounty hunter girl vs. big bad ugly monster.

Any of the Tenchi series.

Witch Hunter Robin. Make sure you watch it in Japanese with the English subtitles, though, because so much atmosphere and depth is lost in the translation. It was so good, I watched all 26 episodes in 2 days.
