One of my favorite blogs www.apartmenttherapy.com (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/) posted an article on this other blog called "Stuff White People Like" (http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.wordpress.com/). It's a hoot. Enjoy!
I love #75 Threatening to Move to Canada :D
Report back with opinions, dammit!
Or links to other fun sites. :o
In other news...My Neti pot came in the mail today, and I love it! :bounce2:

I like "Study a broad." But I like to study more than one at a time.

Keep us abreast on how your studies go.
Also, I thought pot was something you smoked. Oh well, my misunderstanding.

I'm alittle suprised that rap music and Mayonaise isn't on the list....cause you know how white people love their mayo sandwiches and their Wu-Tang.
LOL!
I like the difficult breakups. A friend of mine is driving me crazy right now.

This really should have been called Stuff Liberal White People Like. I've got some pals that are just shy of losing one of their adult teeth before morphing into being a full-on NASCAR dad, yet they're nothing like what's on that list.

Like you can relate. You can't possibly know our pain until you've lived our silver-spoon lives!

Actually Outy is whiter than I am. His sliver spoon is sooooo shiney.

No no no! I can't take it! No! Don't shatter my stereotype! The next thing you're going to tell me is that he has a small wang and doesn't wear "bling!" [vader scream]Noooooooooooo![/vader scream]

The previous comment brought to you by a woman that just added a Donny Osmond song to our downloaded MP3 collection, thinks mustard is too spicy and struggles to surpress the urge to shove her thumbs into her armpits when she's done something she's proud of.

A found that to be a very amusing and insightful guide. It should be required reading for any minority high school student who plans to go to college and plan to one day work in corporate America.
But this blog is incomplete. It’s describing the white people that I already know. These are the white people I went to school with, work with, and I see on the television and in the movies.
I’d like a guide to the white folk who I only interact occasionally. Like when I need a plumber, a new roof on my house or need work done on my car. You know, the deer hunting, NASCAR loving, go to Larry the cable guy concerts and movies kind of white folk.
Where is that guide? And don’t say Jeff Foxworthy, I think he knows only a little more than I do.

Agreed. As prissy and foofy as the kinds of white people being spoofed in that blog, I prefer them to what you described. The ones I work with at Starbucks, the ones I sell coffee to at Starbucks...
Unfortunately, that type you described, that "Playboy-Magazine-in-the-bathroom, sitting-on-the-toilet-smoking-cigarettes type" still exist. I've worked with too many, known too many.
I'm probably going to stop going to AA meetings (or certain ones) because they're choked with that type there. People laugh like donkeys braying at shit like "2001: A Space Travesty" simply because it's a spoof that mimics the Zucker-Abrahams comedy style and stars Leslie Neilsen..... these are people I would leave the room to get away from, and I have PLENTY of times.
Speaking of Starbucks....I'm pretty much gone from there. I work tomorrow morning until 9:30 am, then it's a matter of time that I officially turn in my notice...haven't worked there since January, either. Just over it. The corporate hijinks, all of it.
I've been back at the wholesale glass company I've done catalog (and all other) design for since 2003. I've got my own office, I have an Epilog laser (cuts shapes out of wood, plastic, paper, engraves into glass, metal, pretty much anything), a tabletop photography studio, and my own personal computer nobody else touches there (and can operate from home, if need be)..... They were at a trade show in Vegas last week, and I needed to get the catalog done for that. I also get to design promo for them. They returned from the trade show with nearly 300,000 bucks in orders.
So, yeah.... I'm gonna be going back there once we get everything squared away. Insurance, tax status (probably a "contractor" for them rather than "employee"), etc.... and no more getting up at 4 am.

Fuck. Who am I going to yell at when they mess up my venti triple upside-down iced caramel macchiato? Even if you're not there, and even if the barista's name is Susan, I scream, "GODDAMNIT, BILL! YOU KNOW JUST HOW I WANT IT! JUST HOW I LIKE IT!! WHY CAN'T YOU GET IT RIGHT?!" Then I begin to weep uncontrollably and sob about how I can't stand that you're on the other side of the country and that I wish it could've worked out for us. And since you're working for Starbucks, it's a way for me to feel close to you...even if I can't feel your touch anymore...and...oh god! I can't take it!
