Independent film, man, can't say enough about it. Guys and gals who are scratching by in resources except the ones that truly matter, imagination and inspiration. And adventure gaming, one of my very favorite hobbies for many, many years. So many tales have been spun around the gaming table, so many fantastic experiences have been shared.
Why limit those tales to just your crew? Why not show everyone? The adventure? The heroism? The foibles? The fumbles? The feckless? And the squares who just don't get it? It's all part of the life of the devoted hobbyists known as The Gamers.

The Gamers is the first film released by Dead Gentlemen Productions, a group of gamers, scifi/fantasty fans, thespians and improv comics. It shows a gathering of gamers to play some rounds of Dungeons and Dragons (3rd ed, ugh). They're college students, so they have to deal with the stressed out student down the hall objecting to their noise, and other hazards, such as the player who isn't really there, he's making a token appearance, then going to see...his girlfriend. I mean, really.
But, this brave crew, made up of ...
Rogar the Barbarian played by Matt Shimkus
Newmoon the Elf played by Nathan Rice
Ambrose the Mage played by Justin MacGregor
Nimble the Thief played by Phil M Price
Mark the Berserker played by Chris Duppenthaler
...who also play their counterparts sitting around the gaming table chucking dice. They are on their final quest, to deal with their archfoe, The Shadow, once and for all.
You have what appears to be an epic fantasy quest, but you have the goofiness, sillness and petty arguments that typically happen, which also manifest in game in many ways that bring a chuckle.
The DVD is jam packed. Not only do you have the film, but you have the complete season one of the series Dead Gentlemen Presents, their variety comedy series. You have Revamping Doyle, their vampire comedy tale, some of their stagework...and of course, trailers for their other works, either out onr in the process.
This is a good one, especially if you are a gamer or appreciate gamer culture.
