Mod's note: If you haven't read these books, there are SPOILERS within!

Okay, before I launch into this, a housekeeping item. George Lucas is a complete idiot who IS slowly destroying the beloved franchise he created with sub par prequels and shoddy animated.......mid.....quels. Which BTW if you missed last week's Chaotic Radio program, have been cobbled together and will be released as a full length feature film this summer. *shaking head.

Fortunately there have been a troop of faithful authors out there painting a broader story based on the Star Wars saga, and the story has grown far beyond what Lucas probably could have imagined.

So to hell with George. I thought it would be fun to cast a series of films based on the most current series: Legacy of the Force. If your not entirely familiar with what's been going on for the past 36 years of history since Return of The Jedi took place, here's a quick run down.

1) Luke has managed to rebuild the Jedi Order complete with academy and council of Masters. He redeemed Mara Jade from the dark side, married her, and they have a teenage son, Ben.
2) Han and Leia had 3 children, Jacen and Jaina are twin brother and sister who are now in their mid 30's, and Anakin who was killed as a teenager, "ten years ago" from where we are picking up.
3) Chewbacca was killed off about 15 years earlier while rescuing Anakin.
4) Jacen has gone the way of Vader, fallen to the dark side and is conquering the galaxy all in the name of love.

Admittedly, I am not good at these things, these fantasy casts, but I am curious to see who could be cast in these pivotal roles. The priginal actors are actually the correct age now to play themselves, so that's convenient. But we need to cast every other key player.

Here is my attempt:
Jacen Solo - Jude Law
Jaina Solo - Kate Blanchett
Ben Skywalker - Zac Efron
Boba Fett (yes, I said Boba Fett, he's not dead) Clint Eastwood

Anyone else that your familiar with - go for it, ther's a ton of lesser knowns like Kyp Duron etc.

if memory serves me correctly, Dark Horse Comics did a Boba Fett four issue mini series that was set after Return of the Jedi, the description was that the SARLAC monster takes many years to digest his dinner... and in that time, Boba Fett climbed out of the pit (somehow) and killed the Sarlac.

Yeah, that's essentially his storyline. He's an amazing character, actually, the way Kathy Traviss writes him, you'd love him. The amount of material written on him and his entire history, family line and everything else could support an entire dedicated series, novels, comics or otherwise.

I thought Chewie died another way (space accident - "Vector Prime")?

nope.... I remember that made Yahoo news when they decided to kill Chewbacca but I thought it was from natural causes, old age had finally brought down the furrball... I thought Chewie died many years after Star Wars VI - Return of the Jedi.

I guess that does kinda make sense if he was killed trying to rescue Han's kid named Anakin (why in the hell would Han and Leia name their kid Anakin after all Darth Vader had done the the Skywalkers??)

Ahh, you have much to learn young Padawan. :smirk:

It was in Vector Prime that he died. The group had gone there to pick up some shipment of something or other and while there the Yuuzhan Vong (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Yuuzhan_Vong) set off some gravity generators that pulled that planet's moon down on to the homeworld. As the planet began breaking up, Han, Anakin and Chewie were trying to rescue as many people as possible and at the last possible second, Chewie and Anakin were going to be stranded on the surface, Chewie grabs the kid, tosses him through the hatch to safety.

As for Anakin's name, Vader redeemed himself remember? As the series goes along, Luke and Leia learn more about Anakin before he turned and come to accept him.

Sheesh - everyone knows that!
