Battlestar Galactica season three

Just got it, just started watching, I've seen it all through about a third of "Unfinished Business". I LOVE this show. I read about how some, even fans, didn't care for season three as much, but I have to say, so far, I'm absolutely blown away by the season. So many layers, so much going on, so much baggage, so much rawness. People struggling with complicated issues, big and overwhelming, small, of quiet despair.

More balls in the air than the previous two, lots to take in, lots to absorb. Very different from the two previous. It's all opinion, I realize, but IMO, some of the bashing is unfair.

I am SO enjoying this.

Season 3 started out great, fizzled in the middle, and ended with a bang. There were some filler episodes that had my eyes rolling...still the best show on TV. Can't wait for the season 4 premier baby!

The only thing keeping me sane until 4/4 is Firefly on DVD. My friend recently lent it to me and I'm HOOKED. Even though the tones of the shows are totally different, I'm finding one similarity between the two: they both concentrate heavily on relationships between the characters. On both shows, you could pick any two characters at random, stick 'em in a room, and get some great interaction.

I've been tearing through the S3 set at FTL speed. Just finished watching "Dirty Hands". The third season is even better the second time out, especially the extended version of "Unfinished Business." :popcorn: N

I think that a lot of the complaints about the S3 "filler" episodes is that the bulk of them came clustered right after the return from the fall/winter hiatus. I do know that "The Woman, King" was supposed to kick off a story arc that ultimately was scrapped, but the episode was already shot, so it aired anyway.

I finally got Season 3!!! I never got to watch it on the Sci-Fi channel so this if my first viewing and its fucking great. Just finished the first two episodes and I really hate those cylons now, more then ever.

The Kara Thrace 'lovechild' is weird and I am not sure why they decided to bring her in, so it will be interesting to see what goes on with her.

As always, Sal's wife is a whore and is doing what she does best, which is screwing people up as well as just screwing them..

I almost felt bad for Baldar.....No, it just went away. That fool needs to grow some goddamn balls!:lol:

Alright....Just finished Exodus I and 2. WOW, this show never ceases to amaze me.

First off, the finding out that the cylon fuck made Starbuck believe that was her child was fucked...Majorly...

I do feel bad for Sal losing his wife...You can tell he really did love her and still does...

It was actually kind of emotional watching all of the crew get back together knowing what everyone went through and to see everyones faces show hope, for once in a long time was cool.

Once again...you almost feel bad for Baltar....almost...

So, questions get answered and more appear. I am limiting myself to watching only one to two episodes a night, so to not get carried away and to try and let the subject matter settle before launching into another session.

As it stands right now, by far the best season!

Dude, I do not understand why people are not liking the fact that we are getting into more character development this season then any other! I am loving it!

Just finished Unfinished Buisness and thought it was great. Kara and Lee just need to stop acting like little girls and get together already...damn!

When Adama got into the ring and told chief to get his fat ass into the ring to fight, I almost died of laughter and cheering! I can not think of anyone else to play Adama other then Edward James Olmos!!

Great fucking season so far...and in fact, I GOTS TO watch another one, yo!!

Okay. I'll tell you why people, including me, bitched about season 3. It's because a lot of people thought there was so little forward motion in the plot in trying to get to Earth and there was too much character study and all that, plus, personally, I thought a lot of the shit was heavy-handed, in terms of politics. People just wanted to GO GO GO with all the action because of all the expectation of the season.

However, I think that was a WRONG THING to feel. I admit this now. I re-watched season three knowing what was to come and therefore not having any expectations anymore and I LOVED it more. I began to understand what was actually being built up story-wise. The character development in that shit was top-notch. The fact is that none of the action or forward story will have any impact if we don't have a connection, a real understanding on who the fuck these characters are. The character development in season 3 are critical for us to actually feel where the story is going to be headed.

I think in retrospect season 3, especially with those who see it in DVD, will realize how important it is to care for these characters and how it builds the story.

What happened in season three is said stakes. Well season, char broiled stakes, served with near perfection.

I do not have the Sci-Fi channel and even if I did, I do not think I would watch it. I like waiting for DVD just so I do not have to watch stupid ass commercials and when a ep. ends I can watch the next one right away instead of waiting a week....Especially with the way these ep. are ending with season3, I would be pissed to have to wait another week.

So, for season4... I am going to wait for DVD before watching or learning about anything that happens...It sucks, but it will be worth the wait!:popcorn:

Just finished The Women King; definatly the weakest episode of the series so far, and actually, kind of dissapointing. I thought there would have been more to it then a simple first half of a Law and Order show, you know?

Oh well, you can not always hit the bullseye....Maybe in the future when I watch the series over I might have a different point of view, but yea, it takes the award for Weakest Episode In A Season!:lol:

I love BSG - still tripping on last night's episode. I had no particular problem with Season 3, I just was less than thrilled with 2 eps in it. Not thrilled with The Woman King. It wasn't bad TV or anything, just not my favorite. Kind of knew what was going to happen, kind of got annoyed with people (especially Coddle and Saul) not listening to what Helo had to say.

I also was less than thrilled with the boxing episode. A good friend of mine went as far as to say that I am emotionless and "you've never been hurt by someone you've loved!" Not making this up, that's what he said.

Umm, pretty sure I have emotions. And come on, we've ALL been hurt by someone we've loved. But I just wasn't all that interested in the ins and outs of what people were doing on New Caprica. And I HATE Lee and Kara together. Yes, Lee is great for Kara and could theoritically help straighten out her disastrous life. But Kara is horrible for Lee and would bring him nothin' but bad times. Like she did when she up and married Sam.

Don't get me wrong. I love Kara's character. I find her fascinating. I think Katee Sackhoff is a terrific actress. I just would not want her dating any of my friends!

Unfortunately, yes. I am going to wait until it comes out on DVD. I do not have the Sci-Fi channel or the extra money to cough up for it. That, and I want to be able to watch it on my tv as opposed to my computer screen, even though its quite nice.

I just hope they do not wait almost two years to come out with it on DVD...But I am almost positive...thats the case..
