I can't call myself a fan of his work as I have only seen bits and pieces of Ben Hur and Planet of the Apes, and I wasn't too keen on his views while he was president of the NRA. Nonetheless, this man's contributions to the film industry and to the world are undeniable and worthy of our respect as cinema goers and human beings.

Farewell and safe journey, Mr. Heston. Here's hoping you don't find Heaven infested with "damn, dirty apes."

:goodbye:

He was an icon in the films of my childhood.

Again, another piece of that past is gone.

RIP

If I may quote DeForest Kelly from Wrath of Khan.

"He's really not dead as long as we remember him."
