This series is about 8 episodes old in the UK on Sci-Fi and I readily admit it is one of the worst TV shows I have ever seen. However I can't stop watching it..... am I disturbed ?

Yeah, I heard Skiffy really used up their seemingly neverending reservoir of suck with this show.

I guess even TV shows have an equal and opposite reaction. You have Galactica, then this POS.

Early reviews call it major ass suck, so I never bothered to tune in.

Well, Jakester probably briefly considered watching it, but then realized it wasn't FLESH Gordon, and he lost interest. :)

Flash is not on Mongo but in a place that looks scarily like suburban Canada with occaisional trips through a 'rift'. Ming is... well, normal, and whilst a bit merciless is about as scary as a slightly stern high school teacher. No Prince Barin yet, but there is a really annoying woman character with top norks called Baylin. The Hawkmen are as camp as the cast of 300 if they suddenly burst into a show tune. Dale isn't with Flash but engaged to somebody else. Zarkhov is an after thought.

All in all, not good. Maybe I just watch it because I series linked it on my PVR and my OCD is forcing me to watch it now I have started

i'm surprised they havent cancelled this POS yet.
after waiting for the introduction of the Hawkmen for the majority of the series... I only saw the clips of them in the trailer wearing leather trenchcoats (that doubled as wings?) and jumping around... no thanks.

Flash Gordon as a TV series should have been fantastic. A real chance to have a decent relationship develop between Flash and Dale, with the complications because of other women particularly Ming's daughter.

The internal politics of Ming's empire would have a chance to be really well fleshed out, with the kingdoms kept in a state of perpetual conflict by Ming to keep them under his control. The Hawkmen, Prince Barin.... all expanded upon.

It could have, and should have, been great. Damn you Sci-Fi channel and your complete inability to do fucking anything right ! BSG is despite the Sci-Fi channel, not because of it.

dont forget Dresden Files Dalton... and they've had their hits...occasionally. We just tend to remember crap like Painkiller Jane and Tremors: the series and Flush Gordon because we're almost FORCED to watch those shows because they're conveniantly sandwiched between Dr Who and BSG and Stargate SG1 or Atlantis.
