I have lived in Oregon for 4 years now. This is the first I've heard of this festival. Maybe the wife and I can hit it while touring wineries along the way. Who knows.

My Dad wanted to move us to McMinnville when I was about 7.

And if you fail to get abducted there ... try here. Just a day and a half northeast ... or .3 seconds on saucer power. N

WB, Senor!!!
Better than a UFO sighting! I didn't get to see the UFO fest this year - but I want to do it next year and I want to do it right by maybe getting a room early on at the hotel.

Make your reservation NOW.....and try to get a room with a private bath. Otherwise...you'll be sharing with the room next to you.....or using one down the hall. Thats what you get at old old OLD Hotels.......
but its a great way to participate in the festivities!!
Don't forget the rooftop bar.....mmmmmmm....Hammerhead!!!!:D

No, no he wasn't...er, isn't, not by a long shot.
I could always count on him for fun and interesting posts. He is articulate, witty and opinionated, and always posts intelligently. Being from Canada, I enjoyed and welcomed his view on things. Which is I guess my reaction to what happened was what it was.
It was a bad day for some of us, all at the same time. Things were said, lines were crossed. I regret any part I had in it. I wish it never happened, and that he was still here.

Space Tycoon is a pretty awesome guy. He had a way of presenting ideas that maybe some didn't want to hear, but at least made you stop and give serious thought. Politics are a bitch in forums as this. That Space is a very thoughtful and intelligent poster didn't always make the topics any easier to manage.
The beauty of politics in forums as these, is that everybody gets an equal shot at being an asshole at one time or another, or at the very least - saying and doing something they will regret.
I, for one, am very comfortable at sharing my loathing for that lying, manipulative, conniving, morally bankrupt, and simply disgustingly evil, darkened soul known as Hillary Clinton.
:D
Because..... this forum has been too quiet for too long.

I remember when Spacey first showed up around here......(at least some of the first things I remember him talking about)....he wanted to build his own rocket. He had plans, and calculations, and studied the funding too. I think he really was considering what it would take to build his own rocket and blast off in it........
maybe he really did it.:headscratch:

I never met anybody with such a passion and dream for our future in space. He would always post and point us to the latest ventures in technology and space exploration.
I suppose now that Bush will be taking us to the Moon and Mars, Space might feel his work here is now done.

UNCLEagent, I just got in the mail this weekend the entire UFO series by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, on DVD. They've apparently made it available for real cheap....I got mine for 20 bucks!

That, Bill - is the epitome of AWESOMENESS!!
While I always thought the Moonbase operatives (foil bodysuits and miniskirts) were very, very sexy - nobody could top Georgina Moon of Skydiver!!! (17th picture down) Something about that net-mesh top ......
Glad you got yourself the DVD set - I loved that show when in came out in the US in 1970 - they usually broadcast it in the afternoons on Sat (or was it Sunday?) around 4pmish - NEVER missed an episode.
It's cheesey. Very much so. And you could drive semi-trailer through the many, many plot holes.
But I loved the stern-ness of it all. Drama-queens to the max. And it was a very, very sexy show. We are talking the Sixties....
And I always wanted a wardrobe like Commander Straker.
Thanks for the pics!

It's got to be the Moon, but there's times it looks like they're trying to show the Earth out a window. Camera moves around a lot in the sets....as for its function...well, the show was more about form than function. Some of the gadgets are outrageous, and the sets are always Mid Century Pop. The purply purpleness of the Moonbase girls was all the idea of Sylvia Anderson, the producer's wife, who assumed that wigs would be wildly popular in the future, since they were big at the time the show was made. (ALL the women had wigs back then.) :)
And don't touch the Soccer Balls!
Here's the exciting opening credits for the show.

The show, while set in the distant future of 1980 - was very advanced on gender relations.
