I owe Ron Moore an apology. I'm listening to the podcast commentaries from season one. Much better than I thought they were going to be.

And no, he doesn't spend time trashing the old show. He points out what he saw were limitations with it and what he wanted to avoid.

For some reason, the TOSsers get all twisted over that.

A guy who wanted to trash the original wouldn't have put all those loving little "thank you" moments in there. Think about the pilot/mini-series. Think about the original BSG music being played at the Galactica decommissioning ceremony. Think about a couple of seasons back, when that same music accompanied D'anna's news broadcast. Things like that are little valentines, almost blowing a kiss to, the original series.
