A/C broke on Friday night around 8:30pm.
The fan on the unit doesn't spin on its own, so when the unit turns on, it just sits there and gets hot. If I manually start spinning it with a screwdriver or pencil, it will catch and then run, but it doesn't spin as well as it should, so the house doesn't get especially cool. On top of that, it only runs for about an hour before the fan disengages leaving the unit running and overheating. I have to let it cool off for a while before I can start it again. The house was 89F last night at 10pm.
I have someone coming out Tuesday, but I'm hoping I can sweet talk him into showing up tomorrow.

 89 at ten pm?

Moving to higher elevations or north seems like a better and better idea all the time.

That sucks Jake, remember, your nipples are pressure points so rubbing ice cubes on them will actually cause your body to shed heat faster.....

Hope your fixed up soon man.

And actually Bill, with the climate shift over the past few years, it's hotter than ever. I think Space and Nostromo may have some comfortable temps, but it's stayed pretty damn hot, pretty damn late the past week here and we're considered pretty far north. Just can't win:Dunno:

I wish K. Gets pretty stinky in the Ottawa valley. It's an inversion trap with high humidity and smog. I sure miss the west. :( N

AC was fixed at about 9:30 this AM. Wife reports that the temperature appears to be returning to normal as of an hour or so ago. The dude said it would take about six hours and then after that, we'd see about a drop of a degree an hour until it returned to normal. w00t

My hatred for the logout issue is becoming all-consuming.
