No one here is watching this?
It is so a Mania series.
Sex, lots of drinking and smoking.
We dvr'd the marathon of the first season over the weekend. The second season starts this coming weekend. It is great. I can see why it has received 16 emmy noms.

I've heard good things about this series, but I never got into it.

I TIVO'd the marathon, but haven't started watching it yet. I intend to get caught up eventually.

I need to check it out as well. Been busy this summer, though.

Funny thing. Jon Hamm, one of the stars of Mad Men, went to college here at MU. He was in the theatre department, and I've never heard of him before. That is until he won that Golden Globe. Now every professor in the department is doing the "He-was-in-my-class-I-taught-him-everything-he-knows" dance.

I love this show!!! I caught some episodes that I had missed when they had the marathon on. They really got it all right as far as I can tell. The smoking, the drinking, the attitudes... all of it.
Very deserving of all the nominations and awards.

I have to confess, it is my favorite show, like EVER.
My sister and I started a Mad Men blog, Basket of Kisses (http://www.lippsisters.com). It is the only dedicated fansite for Mad Men. We're pretty obsessed. (And yes, that's on top of my James Bond blogging duties. I'm...busy.)
We have four dedicated writers (counting me), we're adding more, and our commenters are amazing. Seriously, the open thread for this past Sunday's episode hit over 300 comments, and then a follow-up thread hit 75.
Warning! We spoil episodes that have already aired, so if you're catching up via DVD, TiVo, or iTunes, you may not want to read us.

Dang, Kara, you're a TV fiend.
So...how much nudity is there on this show? I heard good things about some of the chicks, and that's making me more interested.

AMC ain't HBO—no nudity. Lots of sex, but not the explicit kind.

I am not that familiar with blogs. But, it seems very confusing to me.

*sigh* ... but it's still good?

It's good but, y'know, intelligent. If you like that sort of thing.

Actually, blogs are much easier to use and visit than message boards.
Essentially, a blog is owned by one or more people. (Ultimate James Bond I do alone, Basket of Kisses is co-owned by my sister and me.) We start every thread by writing a "post" or "blog" on a particular subject. Then a comment thread is attached to that post.
So it's like, I write something about Bond music, readers post comments, sometimes none, sometimes one or two, sometimes a discussion gets going. Then I write something about Daniel Craig as an actor, and the same thing happens.
Since that format is so flexible, there are a gazillion different ways that individuals can use blogs, and that's the part that's confusing. Some are news commentary or news reporting, some are discussion, some are like diaries. There are photo blogs, recipe blogs, you name it.
But if you click the link in my tagline here to my James Bond blog, you'll see a fairly typical sort of blog. Like I said, it's harder to figure out how message boards work; blogs are more straightforward.

I've found plenty of hot chicks can be intelligent...and naked at the same time.
Seriously, though, I'll check it out. I'm still trying to get through Generation Kill, too.
