Quantum is not an acronym. The title comes about from a story written in "For Your Eyes Only".

I think you're actually both right. Yes, Quantum of Solace is a Fleming short story title, but I have also read more than one release indicating it is going to be the title of the organization Le Chiffre and Mr. White worked for in Casino Royale.

And thank Christ they aren't calling them Spectre. The whole point of rebooting a franchise, as I see it anyway, is so that you can start a new and do something you wouldn't ordinarilly have had the chance to do. What sense would it make to then go and do the same thing they did in the first six Bond films over again?
