I'd say that was super-cool, except they said the planet was about 1800 K, which would make it super hot, and I'm not going to say "that's hot." :D

And yet it's so far out from it's star... about 300 AU's. It must be generating it's own heat.

Most likely. Just think, in time we'll have telescopes that can see Earth-like planets and take pictures.
