This is an email I received today from a "friend". This is how most of the people I know feel about Obama.

CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS?

This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to finish and send it on to anyone who will read it. Maybe this is why our American Muslims are so quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities. Can a good Muslim be a good American? This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia

Religiously - no. . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)

Scripturally - no. . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.

Geographically - no Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews .

Politically - no. . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. . Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34)

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. . . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. . Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names. Therefore, after much study and deliberation....

Perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Americans.

Call it what you wish it's still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. .

And Barack Hussein Obama, a Muslim, wants to be our President? You have GOT to be kidding! Wake up America !

Obama even says if he wins the election, he will be sworn in on the Quran---not a Bible!

Footnote: He was sworn in on the Quran for his current office and he refuses to pledge allegiance to the United States or put his hand over his heart when the National Anthem is played! The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within. Hello! Having a Muslim president would seem to fit the bill! Will you trust this man with our national secrets?

SO, FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!

Please don't delete this until you send it on. Let's send it around the world.

Have a Great day!

~Vic~

All of them are white. I am very disappointed that the feel that this is fact.:(

Un-fucking-believable.

First off, it shouldn't matter what mythical being a person believes in, their opinions and policies should be what we worry about.

Second of all, if people believe that stuff, then why aren't people circulating emails about how John McCain was brainwashed in the Hanoi Hilton and will turn over the nation to Communists? That's about as believable as that Obama email.

Honestly, I'm starting to believe that most people are too damn stupid to live. Maybe the herd can use a little thinning.

fear drives people to do incredibly dumb things.
fear also drives people to believe incredibly dumb things.

A lot of people are truly idiots when it comes stuff like this though, Omi. You ever seen those Jaywalking clips on Jay Leno?

Just tonight, they were asking people on the streets who was the CURRENT Vice President.

No clue...

Then someone was asked who was Vice President under Clinton.

Again, no clue.

I'm curious if you go to 100 people around you and ask random politics questions that you think they should know...Will you get the right answers or more "no clues".

People who don't care enough to find out whether something is true before believing it are the same people who will decide the elections in most cases.

As Mettalica likes to sing...Sad, but true...

When JFK was running for Prez, almost the exact kind of rhetoric was raised against him, except change out the Islam related terms and replace with terms from Catholicism.

Most of that stuff has very little to do with being an American. Unless, of course, American=Protestant Christian. Which, no doubt, to the mind of the writer, is true.

Thanks for that...I replied to her email saying "please read this".

I want to educate my friends on the truth about Obama. But, even though we can prove he is not Muslim. There is nothing we can do about his skin color. People just can't get over that somehow. And then I throw my children in their face and say what if it was Dashiell running for President and he did not get voted because of his skin color.
Then I say.."doesn't seem fair does it. Because you know what a good person he is."

Remember, George Sr. feels the same way about athiests. He doesn't believe that they can be good Americans because that, to his mind, includes a belief in God.

I'm currently re-watching Babylon 5, and am about halfway through the 3rd season. It's scary how the show is even more relevant now than it was when it aired.

I watch B5 completely through once every year. And I'll be damned if it doesn't work as an allegory for the Bush years.

Can Muslims be good Americans?

In my experience most Americans have a hard time being good Americans.

You said it right Jerrod dude. Sad but true.

I know you're speaking in generalities, because not all of us pale people conduct our lives on that basis. But you could speculate that white people (in general) have been the majority. They've had a majority of power and money and control over things. So who has the most to lose when there are changes to society? More to lose means more to fear. Give voting rights to African Americans (and before them women)? Then we have less control. Treat immigrants like people instead of criminals? Then we'll be overrun by the "other" and we won't be the majority. If you have less to lose, you have less to fear.

I just think it's sad that people don't realize that expanding rights (and to some extent, opportunities) to people outside the majority doesn't subtract from the rights the majority already has. It's not like there's a finite amount of liberty; sharing it with everyone only increases it. Kinda like love, if you want to get sappy about it.

rappi, rappi, rappi.... my republican friends will hear none of it, absolutely none of it. Nothing, no amount of proof you can say or do will change their minds at all.
Even if they accept the fact that he's not a Muslim, in their eyes theres no way he can be a good Christian either since he's "pro-Choice" and "Pro-gay" and for gay-Marriage and they start spouting all the crazy things he's voted yay or nay on, so hell, thats enough to throw their vote towards McCain.

Theres no convincing them. save your breath
