I just want to say that I think they did a great job by casting Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He pulled off the look and feel very well, true to the Wolverine I grew to love. And the hair...just great, unlike that of X-Men Evlution' Wolverine, who doesn't even have Sideburns!!! Just thought I'd put in my opinion. Anyone dis/agree with me?
CAN'T WAIT FOR X-MEN 2!!! (or X2: X-Men United, as it is being called. Could that title be anymore lame?!!!)

Yes, it could be more lame. Like "X-Men 2: The Quest For Unity and Lollipops".

Or it could be called "X2: X-Men United Because God Loves, Man Kills But The X-Men Will Survive to Appear In The Next Movie About The Phoenix Saga And Then Dark Phoenix And If Those Are Successful We Will Make Fall Of The Mutans, Followed By Inferno and The X-Tinction Agenda And If That Is Successful We Will Have Days of Apocalypse And Onslaught And End The Franchise With Days Of Future Past"
How's that for a lame title?

That's not lame... just long... ok, it's lame too...
But hey, it could have been X2: "X-Men & Magneto"
Honestly, though, I think the only way this movie will suck is if WB got it's hands on it.

I don't know, how's this, I was thinking it could have worked better, as well as tied into the comics...

The suckage factor for X2 is practically non-existant. If anything this summer can give Matrix a run for its money it's this movie. I'm still betting The Hulk will be an out-of-left-field hit but this one should be the blockbuster.

As someone who didn't even like the first X-Men movie I have to admit that this is looking to be incredible. I think it will dwarf the Hulk completely and will hold its own against Matrix Reloaded. Actually it will most likely top Matrix because X2 is PG-13. Every little snotty nosed dollar counts!

I think X2 will beat out the matrix. Almost everyone who wants to see x2 wants to see the matrix, and the other way around. So based on fan base, they will most likley gross the same. But beyond the fan base i think x2 will gross more because it appeals to more people, so total X2 should come out on top.

I'm predicting at least $200 million just in North America (though that could be a conservative guestimate).

i agree...
scifi fans who are adults will probably see matrix AND x2 but kids will only be able to see x2, therefore making x2 a bigger boxoffice hit.
now, back to the actual topic. jackman did do a great job on x-men. it would have been impossible to cast anyone that is not an unknown. such as stallone, or baldwin, as i have heard suggested. looking back on it, i wouldnt have cast jackman, because i have never heard of him, which i think was the point.

And what's so amazing about the casting of him, is that he had never heard of the comic, never read a page of it, and I think he just came to the set and took his character's cue's from the Director. Just guessing, actually, but I do know that he never read the comic.

I just wanna say X2 was the best movie!!! I left the theatre wanting to teleport, to have claws, and wanting the sequel to come out the next day. My opion on the 3rd film is that they must make it, this movie left all comics fans guessing and on the edge of there seats.
We all can guess that the pheonix saga is just right around the conrner. I would just like to see more villians, like, Strife, Sinster, Juggernut, Apocalypse, and Omega red. No matter what the choose for the 3rd film, aslong as they bring the comic characters to life like they did Nightcrawler which was amazing.
I was amazed and as a childhood fan of marvel I was blown away from this movie. I would like to see more story envolving Jean Grey, and I think storm desrves more screen time but has to relize there is a demand for alot of xmen out there. Expically with the rumors of Gambit,Beast, and possibilty of Angel apperaing next.
All I can say is keep them up and I hope there are many many more X-Men movies and marvel movies to come...

From what I've read in interviews, Beast and Angel were originally going to have much larger roles but were reduced to blink and you'll miss cameos. Gambit wasn't going to have a part at all but managed to secure a small cameo in the form of his name appearing. Not that great for the second most popular X-Man, but it's only one step down from Angel's X-ray cameo and a step up from having no part at all.
I hope the next movie doesn't do the Dark Phoenix saga. That's just way too much info to take in. And I doubt Singer will include the Shi'ar in any movies. Too out of this world.
Back on topic, Hugh Jackman was so incredibly perfect for Wolvering. I thought so when I first saw pictures of him in the gear in posters for the first X-Men movie. He proved he was perfect in the first movie and proved it ten times over again in X2. My friend and I were so shocked when he went on that berserker through the mansion. Ooh it was cool!

There was no Angel X-Ray cameo.

I think I'm going to have to go see this again, because I missed a lot of these cameos. How DID Gambit show up in the film, anyway? It should be interesting to see if in the next X film, they give Gambit, Shadowcat, and Jubilee a lot more to do. I know that they are going to HAVE to include a lot more of Colossus, his inclusion was terrific. Can someone also tell me: who was the little boy that was carried out in Colossus' arms? And who was the little girl supposed to be in that whole scene involving Prof. X and the Cerebro? SHARE!!

No girl in particular... just an illusion.
As for Colossus, the boy that Wolverine handed to him is unknown at the moment, though it's been speculated it was Arcade.
Was Colossus also carrying a girl right after he had knocked two of the soldier guys through a wall?

Yes, MarvelKid, I believe he was carrying a girl. That might have been....... umm, I THINK it was Syren. He went for her after she finished screaming (although I can't be sure of it).

Yeah Jackman did an awesome job and he pretty had the action sequences down perfectly. I couldnt imagine anyone else being casted, and could you believe jackman wasn't the original actor they casted for the role? What was especially great was that ol hugh heard about our complaints that wolvie wasnt fierce enough in the first, so he insisted to the directors that wolverine could gut a few SWAT guys.
