Just list the good stuff here folks(this should be a loooong thread).
Magneto's escape. This was the best jailbreak since The Shawshank Redemption! I loved every moment of this.

Bamf! Attack!! My favorite part!

Well I like Nightcrawler scene in the white house!!!
Loved the way he teleported!

I think the White House attack by Nightcrawler was just out of this world. The mutie was all over the place bamfing in and out. It was totally awesome. But I also liked the attack on the the mansion and Wolvie's berserk. He didn't mess around trying to talk to them. Just out come the claws and down went the bad guys.

Nightcrawler saving Rogue. I thought that was great. The way they totally downplayed NC for little bit until he did that, just so you'd forget he was there and then BAMF! Good stuff.
I liked the Drake family cat, but thought that he didn't get enough screen time, after fending off Wolverine's claws and inspecting the frozen tea. He should've accompanied the team for the rest of the movie as a sort of team mascot or something.

Sounds like you're looking for a cat character in the vain of Ms. Lion from Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Oh my stars and garters!
Just want to thank everyone for not bashing me for my mispelling "complaints" in the topic, that's if you noticed in the first place. Hopefully a heroic moderator will swoop in and correct that for me.
Ok, back on topic. Something else that I noticed was a big improvement over the first film is that Singer used some very bold camera angles in X2. The one that sticks out in my mind the most is when Mystique is in the bar and sits down at the table with the security guard. That view from the floor was a great shot. I also noticed different views being used in the oval office scene with Stryker and the President.
Yes, another great moment was Mystique as Rebecca Romijn-Stamos! The angle looked pretty cool and seemed to emphasise her long legs. I thought she looked great in that scene. The Mystique fight with Stryker's guards was cool too. I was glad Professor X got more screen time instead of disappearing for the last half hour like in the previous movie. I also enjoyed the death of Jean Grey ending which was reminiscent of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, or Star Trek: Nemesis. Incidentally, didn't Patrick Stewart feel that he'd just endured another crew member sacrificing himself in his previous film (Star Trek Nemesis), and here he has to go through it all again. How many of these types of losses must one man go through in just a few months?

wolverine covered in blood howling in trhe memory flash. pyro when wolvie got shot in the head "You know all those really dangerous mutants that you hear about on the news,Well I'm the worst one!" Colossus transforming and putting those soldiers through the wall, and wolvie actually killing everyone that got in his way!

obviously nightcrawer in the white house and magneto's escape from prison are on everyones list. i thought those scenes kicked serious ass, but my favorite scene is pyro on the drake's front porch.... also the altercation between pyro/iceman/rogue and those 2 humans at the museum

- Peter turning into Colossus. (He's gotta be in X3!)
- When Wolverine got up after being shot, the look on Pyro's face. Trying to be cool, but completely weirded out. Awesome!
- The fact that Bobby was cowering when Wolvie started slicing that operative in the kitchen. It reminded us that Bobby was really just a kid. Especially after that show of machoism when he first met Wolverine.
-NC's tail swinging after his conversation with Mystique. You could practically hear his heart thumping.
-The cleaner's double-take when he saw Mystique in his body form.
Of course, NC's bamfing, any and all of Magneto's displays of power, and Pyro's flames were awesome. However, I feel the subtleties of the movie made it flow to perfection.

Yeah, NC wagging his tail... That was pretty Oedipal.
05-09-2003, 01:04 PM
Funny, I didn't see his tail like that... I saw him as very innocent and vulnerable... child-like... in that scene. The look in his eyes as well as the tail. Alternately, he could sense familiarity with her... maybe aspects that will lead to his discovery that she's his mother.

NC wasn't exactly panting after Mystique, but he was regarding her with a sense of amazement. Besides, mother or not and priest or not, you stand beside a naked RRS, how can you not react. I mean even if Mystique does turn out to be his mom in X3, NC doesn't know it now. I agree, complete Greek mythology, but totally works. Makes for a more heated storyline than in the comics. And Mystique's indifference does give a nod towards that direction. I mean, you're blue. There can't be that many other blue people out there. When you meet one, you're not going to me curious?
my favorite is the bobby drake family renioun. just a real moment there folks. for me, thats what the x men have always been about. fighting for exeptence, and sometimes, you just cant hack and slash for it.

Seeing becky without the blue gunk on her. Seeing more characters. Prison break was awesome, great stuff, and wolverine kicking ass.

And about nc and mystique, if she's his mother, and he's obviously attracted to her, isnt that.... wrong?
05-13-2003, 02:11 AM
I didn't see it as attraction, it seemed more like he was curious. She just answered his question with a profound (yet short) statement "because we shouldn't have to" and then just walked away. His interest was peaked. Just because I want to jump Mystique's bones I'm not going to assume that Nightcrawler does.

Loved when Colossus changed and things just bounced off him and he looks around like .... well he lokks like a guy looking at gnats flying into him.

Yeah, I think that ranked up there with some of the best scenes of the movie. I was like he just found out that he could withstand bullets. I bet that was a first time test.
