I need a little insight for those who have seen the movie. I have just a few questions about X2 or rather about Deathstrike, Wolverine, Stryker and weapon x project and the movie. By the way the movie was so incredibly great. It was truly a flawless movie. Forget spider-man x2 was just simply perfect, in fact it should have topped spidey but hey that’s the box office. Next is The Hulk. I wonder if it will top x2.

By the way these questions may contain spoilers.

On with the questions.

Now in the film they say something like “Stryker is the chief expert on the development of adamantium”. I know for a fact that in the comics Lord Darkwind and Dr. Cornelius, and the Canadian secret service were the developers of adamantium and weapon x etc., And so if the makers of the film said that the film will have more continuity with the comics, what’s with that statement.

Also was that underground place at Alkali Lake the weapon x facility where wolverine’s claws were made? It seemed as though the lab that deathstrike and wolverine fight in was fresh and new. It also seemed like Death Strike was made in that facility not wolverine. Yet we see old claw marks.

And all of us comic fans know that Death Strike had Donald Pierce and the Reavers turn her into a cyborg w/ adamantuim to get revenge on wolverine for the death of her father, so what they hell is she doing with stryker.

Which brings me to my next question. There’s a small sequence in the movie where Deathstrike seems to be paralyzed and in pain and stryker bends her over and injects that syrum into her neck as he has been doing the whole movie w/ mutants. What was with that? Was she under mind control too or something?

My theory was that Stryker did not head the weapon x project but he just was heavily involved in it and that in this movie universe Lord Darkwind and Dr. Corneilus do exist.

I hope and pray that they do a movie just about wolverine and the full scope of his relationship with deathstrike and with weapon x and it subjects, and all of his past. because they like the first movie showed only a little of wolverine going berserk and on a bloody rampage escaping the facility.

In this movie they ought to have Sabertooth Wolverine rematch as well as Deathstrike, Silver Fox, and the other weapon x subjects. And Lord Darkwind and Dr. Cornelius should atleast get a cameo role. Who knows maybe they’ll even deal with wolverine’s relationship w/ sabertooth and stage a huge re-match.

oh and by the way we very briefly see a man talking at a news conferience on the tv and the subtitle says Hank McCoy. but the man doesn't seem to be very big nor does he seem to have large hands, which he does have in the comics. maybe i wasn't looking closely enough. it went by so fast

It seemed like they were going for the easy approach to save time.

To the casual viewer it would seem like deathstrike was merely just another mutant w/ healing powers that teamed up w/ stryker and had him put together the claws for her and took logan/wolverine's place after he escaped. and that stryker was the experimenter that put his claws on him.

And yeah, Deathstrike was under Stryker's mind control the whole time. It was just wearing off when he had to put more on her while talking to Xavier.

well since were all in agreemet that she was under mind control

Do we now assume that stryker made her claws for her. but she was never attached to weapon x. remember when wolv. reaches that laboratory where they fight. obviously that's the lab he escaped from. but what about the other weapon x test subjects? were they all experimeted on in that underground place? could some who's seen the movie and who knows the comics of weaponx and wolverine well shed some light on this and how this may be handled in future movies

we see newish x-ray charts and schematics of yuriko's hands/claws. it almost seemed like she was made in that laboratory by stryker recently.

but my only issue is this she's a cyborg/ wit cyborg parts in her and in the comics she is made this way by the donald pierce and reavers through tecnology. not that big water tank.

have the reavers been written out of the movie universe for time and convinence?

i would love to see a wolverine movie where we see sabetooth, deathstrike, siver fox, maverick.

Now in the film they say something like “Stryker is the chief expert on the development of adamantium”. Well the films are not the comics. I doubt they will ever include Darkwind or Cornelius. It's just something we have to accept. The films follow comic continuity as much as they can but abandon it often to tell a more entertaining story to a wider audience at a quicker pace. Joker wasn't the one who killed Batman's parents in the comics either, but they did it in the movie for dramatic flair. Same with all this.

Also was that underground place at Alkali Lake the weapon x facility where wolverine’s claws were made? It seemed as though the lab that deathstrike and wolverine fight in was fresh and new. It also seemed like Death Strike was made in that facility not wolverine. Yet we see old claw marks.

Yes indeed it was. The lab wasn't fresh or new, just preserved. Stryker explained that adamantium becomes irreversibly indestructable when cooled. Hence it is bubbling all the time. Deathstrike and Wolvering were both experimented on in the same place it seems. We're not sure how recently Yuriko went through her procedure there. And those claw marks were left behind by Wolverine during his escape.

And all of us comic fans know that Death Strike had Donald Pierce and the Reavers turn her into a cyborg w/ adamantuim to get revenge on wolverine for the death of her father, so what they hell is she doing with stryker.

Again, the comics are different from the movies. In the comics, Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, Angel, and Jean were the original X-Men. In the movie Iceman is a kid, Beast is still just a scientist who doesn't seem to have mutated, and Angel doesn't appear to exist at all. Just a small example of the numerous differences between the two.

What was with that? Was she under mind control too or something?

Yep. Kind of makes it sad the way she died since she wasn't in control of her actions. Or didn't appear to be.

I really hope they have Wolverine and Sabertooth go at it again in the next movie or a Wolverine solo movie. I would think it would be really awesome, also, to make Origin into a movie and just keep it as is. It has a very cinematic style to it already that could translate well with that Irish chick narrating the way she does in the GN. I loved that story so much. The best handling of a character's beginnings since Batman: Year One.
