View Full Version : Favorite X2 line

What's your favorite line from X2?

I've only seen it once but I hope this is right,

Wolverine:"You wanna shoot me? Then SHOOT me!"

MarvelKid18

"I am Kurt Wagner, but in the Munich Circus I was known as the incredible Nightcrawler."

I love the delivery of that line.

That was an awesome line.

I also loved:

"You know all those dangerous mutants you hear about on the news? I'm the worst one..."

"You always do as you're told?"

"Sometimes anger...can help you survive." (and the entire Storm/Nightcrawler exchange)

"I am Kurt Wagner, but in the Munich Circus I was known as the Incredible Nightcrawler!"

"We love what you've done with your hair..."

"She did make a choice...it was you."

Mr. Drake : "What exactly are you a Professor of?"

Logan : "Art."

-----------------
or
-----------------
Mrs. Drake : "This is all my fault!"
Pyro : "Actually they discovered that the male passes on the mutant gene, so really it's his" (looks at Mr. Drake)

sorry if these aren't 100% correct, but they were great lines none-the-less... even the non-comic fans in the audiences of my showings laughed.

I also loved the whole Logan Bobby scene in the kitchen... not really a line, but the whole scene.. Logan looking for beer in a school... the Dr. Pepper (didn't the amount in the bottle go down dramatically when Logan hands it to Bobby to cool off? He opened it and it was full... and then it wasn't. Anyone else notice that?)

Anyone else notice what Bobby was eating? Looked like Stawberry ice cream or some flavor of ice cream. Thought that was kind of a neat addition.

Even worse than frozen yogurt- a pint of Baskin Robbins prob to tie-in with the X2 promotion they're doing.

I loved the Wolverine/Lady Deathstrike fight scene, and the line right before it when Wolverine pops his claws and them LDS pops her claws...

"You Homo sapiens and your guns."
"I'm am Batman!"
"Truth, Justice, and other good stuff."

Not verbatim but slight paraphrase based on my memory:

Jean: Girls flirt with the bad guys, Logan, but they don't go home with them. Girls marry the good guys...

Wolverine (mumbles with a very cute shrug and not-quite-straight face): I can be a good guy.

I just thought the above scene was just so cutesy, romantic and funny too, considering the usually gruff Wolvie. Can I just say that Hugh Jackman and Famke Janssen really nailed the scene with their delivery and chemistry.

Another fave of mine is the scene which starts with Magneto and Mystique giggling like schoolgirls in the corner of the Xjet before Magneto quips to Rogue with a straight face:"We love what you've done with your hair.".I just thought it was an Xcellent example of continuity, you know showing that all the parties concerned have not quite forgotten or forgiven the Liberty Island incident.

Wolvie's 'Holy shit!' at Deathstrike's claws was a classic too.

I didn't quite like Pyro's whole 'dangerous mutants...I'm the worst one' monologue as I thought it was almost, but of course not as bad, as Storm's whole 'what happens to a toad when struck by lightning' non sequitur in X-Men which I'm still in denial about. What followed after, however, was viscreal visual pleasure. In fact I wanted him to inflict even more damage on those irritating, bigoted cops.I was also impressed by Rogue finally using her power actively by sucking Pyro's flame-controlling ability so she can tame and smother the flames.

Siryn's scream 'alarm' I thought was an Xcellent way to both cameo a mutant and keep the story going.Colossus' metalling up after that was awesome too.

Bobby's 'Professor Logan' introduction and Wolverine's Professor of Art quip had me chuckling too.

My all-time fave scenes are a tie between Magneto's majestic prison-break and the no-claws-barred Wolverine/Deathstrike mu-tant-no-a-mu-tant-no.

Will add if I think of others http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

I don't think it's *quite* right to call them bigotted. They received a call that a family was being held hostage in their own home and when they arrived, a big guy with six "knives" walked out of the house. What were they to think?

My favorites:

The exchange in the woods. (I was really crossing my fingers that Jean would come across as committed and stable.)

Magneto: Never trust a beautiful woman who'd be interested in YOU.

The cat. 'Nuff said.

The exchange w/ Bobby's parents.

Logan: She chose you. (Sniffles.)

I love the scene with bobby and logan in the kitchen where bobby is talking about how his relationship with Rogue isn't what he wants it to be and then he gets this look from Logan like "Now you better be carefull about what you say about my little girl" Its great.

Well, you've nailed all my favorite lines too. I also liked Nightcrawler's reaction when they looked up into the tree and found him eavesdropping. The expression on his face and his eyes and the line just all went together. He really seemed like such an innocent.

Which is one of the reasons Cumming did such a good job with Nightcrawler. Living in such seclusion made him somewhat child-like. I especially liked his line after they found him: "I did not mean to snoop." His delivery was very funny.

I also think he looks very innocent when he triwls his tail after talking to Mystique... his look is very innocent, and the tail magnifies it. I don't think it equates to a dog waigging its tail... some people have seemed to interepret this as meaning he's romantically interested in Mystiqe... but I think he seems to sense a kindred figure... maybe he even senses a maternal figure... could this be the first step in discovering who his birth parents were?

I'm surprised no one mentioned the scene where wolverine gets shot in the head and heals and then stands up and just cranks his neck and everyone just looks at him like, holy shit. god damn that was awesome

Some people were mentioning the midnight kitchen scene between Logan and Bobby. Well, I also loved this one as well:

Bobby: "I mean, I've seen the way you look at Professor Grey."
Logan: "Excuse me?"

It's not exact but I've got the drift of it. That pretty much ended their conversation there combined with Wolverine's look he gave him.

"I'm am Batman!"
"Truth, Justice, and other good stuff."

I was gonna say... I don't know what movie he was watching...

Off topic here but,

I find it interesting that all these newbies come out of the woodwork now when this film opens... and some are quite misinformed... I have nothing against newbies... we all start out that way... but please don't post things without checking them. Some person posted that the Kingpin was originally black in the cameos topic... If you aren't sure of something... say you think this... it comes off better than when you simply state it. Someone is more likely to politely correct you if you pose it as a question of sorts.

Or maybe they just have things wrong for any number of reasons... I just think it's better to check things out. I usually check things out on a comics site before I post about it. www.spiderfan.org (http://www.spiderfan.org) works well for all things spidey, www.uncannyxmen.net (http://www.uncannyxmen.net) works for the world of mutants, and www.marvel.com (http://www.marvel.com) for most marvel stuff... www.comicboards.com/dcguide (http://www.comicboards.com/dcguide) i've found is good for DC.

Sorry if these seems rather ranty... it just kinda irks me when people post things that are just not thought out carefully. People from all over the world read this... please put some care in your posts. If you have a question there are plenty of people here that would glady answer you... myself included (given I know the answer http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif)

My favorite also didn't have a line I can remember. I just remember when Wolvering stole Cyclops' car and when he turned on the radio N Sync was blasting in the speakers. I loved the way he turns it off really quickly like, "What the hell!?"
NSync seems like something Cyclops would listen to. The pansy.

I really loved the line exchange between Nightcrawler and Mystique:

Nightcrawler: "They say that you can impersonate anyone. Even za voice"?
Mystique: (in Kurt's voice).... "Even za voice".
Nightcrawler: "Why don't you just look like zem ALL za time"?
Mystique: "Because I shouldn't have to".

I apologize if I'm paraphrasing, but I'm SURE you all know what I'm talking about. Mystique's end line is my favorite, I would have to say. It basically sums up the core idea of this film..... acceptance, being who we want to be.

one of my favorite parts, even though not a line, was when colossus (in his peter form) drew the picture of rouge kissing iceman. i thought not only was it kinda funny, but a good example of the character detail than went into this film. i do belive that colosus as always been a bit of an artist no? and hear we have him demostrating those talents, not just a big muscle bound metal guy eh?

one note, did anybody else realy wanna give nightcrawler a big hug? i mean, poor guy. everybody has cool nicknames, and hes trying to get his out ther but people keep shutting him down. poor lil smurf.

Nothing personal but the line was "When will these people learn how to fly."
And I don't believe that Mags was in the exact space that the plane was gonna crash. I think that since he can control the jet, he can control where it's going to set down so he made the tip center on him so that they would know who was reasonsable for saving their lives.

My favorite quote, and forgive me if it's not precisely accurate, was Mistique's respose when Nightcrawler asked why she just didn't look "normal" all the time.

"Because, we shouldn't have too."

Simple, yet profound on so many levels. It's a simple truth that genuinely applies to everyday humanity outside of the pages of comics, and the silver screen.

[Takes a flame form a lighter into his own hand]
Pyro: Pyro.
Magneto: Quite a talent you have there, Pyro.
Pyro: I can only manipulate the fire, I can't create it.
Magneto: You are a god among insects. Never let anyone tell you different.

Nightcrawler: I do not fear them. I pity them. Do you know why? Some people will never know anything beyond what they see with their own eyes.

Mrs. Madeline Drake: Have you ever tried...not being a mutant?
________________________________________

Magneto: Mr. Laurio, never trust a beautiful woman; especially one who's interested in you.
_________________________________________

Pyro: They say you're the bad guy.
Magneto: Is that what they say?
Pyro: That's a dorky looking helmet.
Magneto: That "dorky looking helmet" is the only thing protecting me from the real bad guys.
_________________________________________

Professor X: The next time you feel like showing off, don't.
_________________________________________

Magneto: This is one lovers' quarrel we don't want to get in the middle of.
_________________________________________

Magneto: The professor thought you would be able to figure it out on your own. He gives you more credit than I do.
_________________________________________

Professor X: If you continue to smoke in here, you'll spend the rest of your live believing you are a six year old girl.
Wolverine: You'd do that?
Professor X: I'd have Jean braid your hair.
_________________________________________

Nightcrawler: My name is Kurt Wagner. But in the Munich circus, I was known as the incredible Nightcrawler!
_________________________________________

Nightcrawler: They say you can imitate anyone, even their voice.
Mystique: [as Nightcrawler] Even their voice.
Nightcrawler: Then why not stay in disguise all the time? You know, look like everyone else.
Mystique: Because we shouldn't have to.

Hey Sonic!
I think you got every GOOD quote from the film! That was pretty good! How many time's have you seen this flick, anyway? I also like Wolverine's line, when they are at Iceman/Bobby's house, in Boston, and he's on the com-link with Storm, and, as Storm says she's going to pick them up, Logan says, "And Storm....." (he looks askance into the house at Bobby's family)...... "make it quick."

I just hought that scene really captured both their selflessness. I also liked the feeling in that scene that they could work really well together...like if they were in a battle together, they would have gone right into the "Fastball". Yeah comic geeks! Admit on this message board you don't know what I'm talking about.

Mr. Z!
LOVE that moment, and those line's myself! For a moment, I thought that they WERE going to let Colossus rock and roll with Logan, but it was a really intelligent decision on Bryan Singer's part (plus the scriptwriter's), to let that scene play out the way that it did. We were able to get a chance to see what Colossus was capable of, and at the same time, whet our appetite's for what will surely be a more X panded amount of screen time for Colossus in X3!

When they're surrounded by police officers at the Drake home and Wolverine already has his claws drawn ...

OFFICER : "Drop the knives!"

WOLVERINE : "I can't."

Perfect.

All the best quotes have been covered I think but as far as the best seen goes
I'd have to say it's when Logan's wrestling with the bad guy in the kitchen, after the bullets stop flying and he puts all his claws in the guys chest. Just the way he yells when he shanks him, it gave me shivers man. And the way Bobby looks at him afterwards, you can see the fear and admiration on his face. All in all it was one of many great moments in this film. Nothing disappointed me about it. I saw it Four times.

Favorite from the first X- Men movie
