phew! i know people LOVE Angel and Buffy....but this man does not need to be directing Xmen. Let's hope someone like Guillermo Del Toro (crosses fingers) gets the gig. before you go all fanboy on me, i just like del toro because his ability to do sooo much with so little money.

Thank the holy god and all his disciples in heaven!!!!!!
I'm so glad Fox are being careful with this franchise (which, arguably, kickstarted the superhero movie trend we're currently in).
Del Toro wouldnt fit as well as he does with Hellboy. I know that the studio were considering Alex Proyas (The crow, Dark city and I, Robot).
I would like someone with the sensibilities of Fincher, who-like Singer-is a real film maker and an actors film maker.
Proyas does know his special effects though, and his set pieces, and has shown blockbuster success. I just wish they'd hurry up and get this film under way!!!!
I've been rooting for Proyas since Singer left. I think he would do a great job.

he's a good choice. so is fincher. i think as long as you get a good script you will get the good directing. it's likely that marvel and fox will not let this cash cow be handed over to just "any" director. then you have the wolverine movies (since van helsing is not likely to be the vehicle for jackman that people thought it would be) which are rumored, so you can throw that into the storyline as they will likely use x3 as a jumping off point for the character to go it alone, that's my guess.
anyways, back on topic....thank god it's not whedon, he turned me off way back during the first one when he got pissy about them not using his script and such. let's hope for a competent director that can handle a big budget movie...providing fox invests the money. hey fox...look what sony pumped into spiderman one and two...trust me, it will turn a profit.
