View Full Version : Jeri Ryan in talks to be Emma Frost

Former Boston Public actress Jeri Ryan, of Star Trek notoriety, has been in recent talks with Fox studio producers of the upcoming X3 motion picture to star as Emma Frost, member of rival mutant group the Inner Circle, a clan which ultimately manipulates the reborn Jean Grey (as Phoenix) into becoming evil and battling the X-Men. This being after actress Sigourney Weaver decides against joining the cast after Bryan Singers pulls out of directing the project.
Well, she's certainly better than Sigourney Weaver, and after her turn as Seven of Nine, or the sexy vampiress in Dracula 2000, she could probably pull it off. She certainly can act, and can bring a measure of seriousness to the part, and it would be the 3rd Star Trek actor to join X-Men (after Patrick Stewart and Famke Janssen).
However, I'm not sure if she's the best choice. Maybe her features are a bit too particular. I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I'd still prefer someone like Natasha Henstridge who seems to me far more like the White Queen, and a blonde Famke Janssen-type (which would mirror the Black Queen effectively).
I suppose since we're on the subject of Star Trek actors, someone's going to say that Jonathan Frakes should be Black Tom Cassidy? http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif
Meoww! Send in the clowns!

I think Jeri would be a great addition to the cast of the X-Men movies. She looks, acts(Dracula 2000) and speaks the part unlike other actresses tied to the movies...cough,cough*Halle Berry*cough, cough. If you compare her pictures to the comics, she looks very similar to the White Queen.

I always thought Ali Larter would make a fantastic white queen. She was in American Outlaws and Final Destination. She is beautiful, a great actress, and if she wants to, a real b1tch!

I've LOVED Jeri Ryan since her days as 7of9. I think she'd be FINE (no pun intended, really), for the role of Emma Frost. I know I opined on this a LOOONG time ago, as to who I thought would make a really good Emma (I'm not THAT familiar with the character to begin with, quite frankly), however, Jeri Ryan wouldn't be a bad choice at all. Wish I could remember who my 1st choice had been, though.
