just curious as to what people think should go on after x3. do we go right into spin-off movies, or do we go into the next x-men movies? if we go directly into x4-x6, what storylines, and the same for spin-offs, what storylines.

i personally think one or two spin-offs should be done after x3. one of them should be magneto, which would pretty much be a prequel (his childhood, meeting xavier, etc). i don't know what the other should be. i don't think it should be wolverine, simply because that could be it's own trilogy, and i think spin-offs right after x3 should be stand-alones.

as for x4-x6, i know what i want to see, but it could never be done. x-cutioner's song.
days of future past would also be good, but it may be kinda hard to explain that it's just a possible future, and why they're jumping so far ahead into the future.

x4-x6 sounds like too much. i think that with 2 spin offs its big enough. the franchise gets stretched too long with the actors wanting to get off. star wars got 2 different stories for the trilogies and actors so it worked fine. but like spiderman 4-6 never ganna happen, xmen will die down after the 5th film of either magneto or wolverine.

for wolverine i think the weapon x stories are great but some samurias would be nice.

magneto is like the story says...meets xavier, ww2 childhood, war stories, developing powers and showing the world at its dark side with normal people showin thier worst sides.

for the ideas of x4-x6 its really a bad thing to happen if they insanely make 8 xmen movies. i mean really 8! thats tooooo much.lol "keep it low, and let it flow".

oh yeah, i agree that 8 IS way too many movies. but you never know what the studios are thinking. i definitely think the x-men movies should stop after 3, and then see where the spin-offs can go. honestly, the only spin-off i really want to see is magneto. the fact that they want to go back and tell his history just amazes me. i never thought they'd consider doing that. of course, wolverine would be cool, but it needs to be the right situation, the right setting, the right director. i don't want to see wolverine movies just for the sake of seeing wolverine movies, if that makes any sense.

For X-Men 4, I would want to have it about the Age of Apocalypse, killing off characters who can be expended.
X-Men 5 would be about Genosha being destroyed and Magneto going psycho against New York(Like in New X-Men).
X-Men 6 would end the X-Men days like in the X-Men the End comic.

If not the proposed WOLVERINE and MAGNETO spinoffs, what X-men spinoff could the X2, X3, Elektra writer be considering?

NEW MUTANTS?
X-FACTOR?
X-FORCE?
CABLE?
GAMBIT?

Who do you think it could be?

Personally, I'd love to see X-Statix be made into a movie. It may not have been the most popular (Darkly humorous storylines and Allred's art may have turned some people off of it), but I could definately see it being made into a cult-type movie (like The Crow or Blade, only funnier). Marvel could reunite some of the guys who did Fight Club (screenwriter Jim Uhls and director David Fincher) and I think it could work.

If people want more X-films about other stories that only comic fans might know about it has a slim chance of happening but maybe the tv can save em. TV cartoons or live-action shows can make it but we wont like it really. we might say in the first weeks that its cool then a year after we start hating it. If the x-films are going to show new characters that are not familiar to the general public it will take about 25 years for a new audience to like it...well thats my opinion on how more X-films will work if comic fans still want more after 5 films...

I'd like to see the formation of X-Force, to be honest. I always liked Cable, so I'd love to see them introduce that character. Now as to WHO to play Cable (and the other's of X-Force)??

PLEASE........SHARE......... your ideas on THAT one! 8)

X-Men is a franchise I can see going on and having as many films as James Bond or Star Trek. With X-Men you have a team, unlike Spider-Man or Batman, so you can keep alternating the members. Say Patrick Stewart wants to stop playing Professor X, you kill him off in the last movie and in the next one Cyclops is the leader, James Mardsen decides to drop out, you move on. You just add and subtract members. There are so many X-Men characters out there, it would be quite a while before you ran out.

While I can see something like a Days Of Futures Past storyline being triggered (Mystique is found out to posing as a dead Senator Kelly or something like this) I doubt it, since now a time travel issue is established. This isn't Terminator.

Cable/X-Force as a spinoff or related film could be okay but again, if Cable (and/or Bishop, for that matter) again the time travel stuff would either be discarded or, used in a Days Of Futures Past situation.

There is one exception to both. Don't show the (possible) future. This way, there could be more skepticism on the part of those who don't know Cable and/or Bishop. I keep including Bishop, because he's from a future/alternate timeline as well, and why not include him?

Who should play Cable? Gosh, that's a stumper. I can think of only one name right now. Cole Hauser

As to what X-Men spinoff Zak Penn will (possibly) do - I understand the report implies having to focus on the Xavier School itself and some of the mutant kids therein. Or it may not be this at all. Not unless the kids being from NewMutants or XGen go on a field trip and they must unite to fight off ...oh...who's good...? Proteus. Yeah, Proteus would work in this sort of scenerio.

If ... er...what should we call it?? "Xavier's Academy". Yeah. That works.
Unless the mutants used form up NewMut or Xgen, of course. Anyway, I think it would be neat if Fox and Marv greenlit another film, and spread out the X- Universe, then we'd have this, Magneto... Wolverine...and...
Well, I'd prefer X4...

Many years ago, I thought that Brian Dennehey would make a great Cable. He looked a lot like the Cable character that I remember being created in the '90's. I thought that Dennehey had the right size and attitude to be Cable. But that was many years back...... I just don't know who could be a really good Cable right now. I think Cole Hauser is really good, mind you, but I'm not too sure about him.....just physically and look wise.... not great a choice (personally) for myself. Actually........ how about Sean Bean?? Just thought of him as I was writing this out. Bean would make a really interesting Cable. Anybody think this is a good choice......or a bad one? Please........SHARE!

Sean Bean sounds pefect. Can't thnk of anyone else anyway.

Now we need a Ryan Renolds as Deadpool in a movie, then we can oddly combine the two in a movie for hilarious and interesting match. Bodyslide my man-essence by two.

New cartoon! Not into the title but a new cartoon is a great way to get the xmen still on the media. Say's it's going to start in the summer of 2007.

other than apocalypse or onslaught storylines..alternate realities or house of M would be a perfect choice for the next movies i think..

besides all these i'd really love to see x-statix adapted in a dark humorous way portrayed by cult actors and actresses and directed by Aronofsky..

Alternate realities...Hmm...I could see something happen on that for a spin-off. And as for House of M, I think that the general public really wouldn't go well with that idea. They want to keep thinking about the evolution of mutants like we all thought for the last 40 years until 2005... :x

I've often seen this thread, and tried to think up what I'd like to see Beyond X3, but to be really honest, I can't think of anything. From old storylines, that is. I'd like to just think that whoever are the brains at the computer keyboard with this franchise could probably just start thinking up some original storylines that don't have to necessarily be from the comics. Perhaps, like they are doing in a spin off of Magneto, how about doing a "Pre-quel" to the X-Men? We are already hearing about how they are going to go back in time at the beginning of this installment, to when Prof. X & Magneto first encounter Jean Grey as a 12 year old......why can't they go back even further and show us Prof. X as a child? And who HIS mentors were? I mean, to do so would also mean that you are going to have to make up brand new mutants as well...... I mean, I don't think that Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops......or even The Beast for that matter.......could be included in this idea. But, still, it would be nice to see something that came from a wholley, original place. 8)

The way to truly make it is just have a lot of spin-offs after X3. Let the X-franchise split into having solo films. It kinda reminds me of how many X-titles there are in the comic business right now. It's like the mutants are the biggest part of the Marvel universe for storytelling. Well...now that it's all a depowering stage it still does have that amount of titles. Crazy...is it? But the real question is: Do the fans want these spin-offs? I do...Do you?

 I love the fact that the X' movies are taking off but do we really need to keep adding numbers to the titles. Example X100: Regressing to cliche's. At least with the Star Wars Trilogy or the James Bond films, they contained their own individual title and story. Revenge of the Sith. Die Another Day. How about we try X-Men: Phoenix Saga? Yada yada yada. Come Hollywood get creative!

I think that is asking for a bit too much from Hollywood.

I just had a kooky idea...

since FOX "has" the rights to both the X-men franchise and the Alien franchise, how about...

AVX: ALIENS VS. X-MEN

Ok, now before you all start calling for my burning effigy, my idea is simple. Substitute the Aliens for the BROOD and run with that storyline (on Earth of course, no space whales).

Just a thought. You can break out the tar and feathers now.

Actually, Z Luv, it's not a bad idea at all. You're right, it's kooky and crazy and bonderline demented, but I love it!

Now, we both know it's never gonna happen, but I personally would pay to see it if it did. As long as that Paul WS Anderson guy stays away from it of course. Thinking about it, this would be a perfect vehicle for Brett Ratner. He would not be expected to add any kind of gravitis to the proceedings. He would just have to make a big budget, summer popcorn flick, which he is clearly capable of doing.

Nice idea! Not gonna happen, but I still like it!

At the beginning of my noob-ish time here at C2F I posted a story idea called "MIB vs X-men" where the Men In Black mistaked the mutants as illegal aliens trying to pass through the MIB government. And the X-men mistaking the MIB as mutant hunters for the government. I kinda had this whole storyline going in my head at that time. I think I thought that up like 2 or 3 years ago. Would be cool to see on film.

Yeah, that could work too. 8) That's the cool thing about the X-Men, they translate so easily to other Sci Fi settings and could conceivably be compatible with so many other properties. Really, imagination is the only limit.
