Well, how about it?
Superman had his origin defined in 1986 by John Byrne in the MAN OF STEEL miniseries. 17 years later in 2003, it's being updated and redone by Mark Waid in the BIRTHRIGHT maxiseries.
Batman likewise had his origin defined in 1987 by Frank Miller in the YEAR ONE storyline. Would anyone be for or against the idea of updating Batman's origin story via a 12-issue maxiseries?
I think it would be a good idea. There are plenty of new stories about the early part of Batman's career (THE LONG HALLOWEEN, DARK VICTORY). But what about a series that covers, in detail, like the first season or three months of Bruce Wayne's career as Batman, as well as going over the last few years leading up to the first night?
I'd like to see it, particularly the updated training aspects.
They could call it BATMAN : FIRST TWILIGHT or something like that.
