Hey all, new to the forums and a big Batman fan.

Wanted to start a thread about the old (in)famous Batman show. You know the one, Adam West, lot's of whams! Bams! and Pows!

Cheesy? You bet. But does any one else have fond memories of watching the show as a kid? Any comments about the series in general, the villians they had, or how it affected your view of the Batman movies?

well i'm still a kid and i used to watch this show on tv land. it was pretty funny and fake as always. i'm soo happy "the batman" is showing now and its a cooler version of the character. i also heard adam west will have a cartoon cameo there too. maybe if i will every see the 50's show again on the tv guide i'll check it out. i remember a few episodes and all i have to say is "nice first try" for the makers. the costumes were really in need of a change and if they will ever make that batman costume on a channel i watch....well i'll never watch it again. the eye-brows on the mask were way wierd and the batmobile...no comment can explain the horrible transformation from comic to tv on that thing. but i never read the 50's batman comic so i dont kno if the batmobile looked like that too in the comic...

well thats my opinion whos next?

Adam West, Burt Ward and Yvonne Craig will always have a found place in this thirtysomething's heart! I can't believe I didn't realize it was fake until my late teens (but I guess when puberty sets in that makes sense).
I wish I had Ted Turner type bucks, because then I would start a channel dedicated to everything superhero. Old television shows, cartoons, made for television movies, etc. I'd get Adam West and Nicholas Hammond (tv's Spider-Man) to do guest spots. I'd also get old commercials featuring superheroes.
Oops, I guess I went off on a tangent again. Back on subject (sort of), if you get a chance, surf the net for photos of Yvonne Craig pre-Batman (what a hottie!).

Man, I remember watching that old show in reruns in syndication as a kid. It was great fun and until the animated series came out, the only Batman I knew. I still think it's good fun, but it should be left in the past and that camp should never be returned to in new Batman productions.

And yes, Yvonne Craig as Batgirl made me feel all funny inside as a kid.

Isn't it interesting how superhero programming, no matter how cheesy, is still entertaining? It's like pizza, even when it's bad, it's still pretty good!

An all superhero channel is a GREAT idea. Between all the movies and shows you'd have plenty of programming. It could succeed too, there is plenty of other niche channels that make it.
