View Full Version : What's the deal with Brooke Adams?

Here's what I already know:
Brooke Adams was rumored for Felicia Hardy/Black Cat.
Yahoo (http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc&cf=gen&id=1808485749) says she's still in the cast.
IMDB listed the older Brooke Adams (i) when they meant to list 17-year-old Brooke Adams (ii) (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0010794/), now they have no one listed. (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0316654/)
She is also known as singer Brooke Alison.
She was supposed to appear in Maxim. (She hasn't as far as I know.)
I've heard rumors that there is no Felicia Hardy character in Spiderman 2.
This girl has no web presence. Her fan sites haven't been updated in years, and her agent didn't answer my e-mail. If anyone has found anything about the character or actor I would really appreciate it if you'd pass it on.

I don't know, but we've been perplexed by this before, in a thread here not so long ago:
http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/Forum6/HTML/000222.html
All I know is that DK Hood doesn't fancy the idea of a 50-year old Black Cat in the shape and form of the older Brooke Adams. That's why I would recommend he go and see "Calendar Girls" with Helen Mirren and Julie Walters. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Whoa, hey now, nobody said anything about Helen Mirren. I've seen a few of her movies, both when she was younger and when she got older, and she still looked pretty damn good. But she's closer to 60 now than she is to 50, so no, I wouldn't want to see her as Black Cat either. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/tongue.gif

Young Brooke Adams is the one that was up for the role. I'm not confused about that. I just want to know what happened to her. Is she not in the movie? Is no one playing Black Cat or did they get someone else?
Most celebs have a website or fan sites that keep track of these things, but Brooke is like vapor. Maybe she joined a cult or something.

It is possible that Brooke was never on for Felicia, but perhaps another love interest of Peter's? Maybe one named Gwen http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif

When we talk of "young Brooke Adams" it makes people here sound like crotchety old men. Well, at least Ed Hopkins does. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif
Perhaps Helen Mirren could be Madame Web? Or better still, she could probably play the Ultimate version of Aunt May suitably well.

Oh God, I hope not. Those are two characters that I never want to see and think "oh, I've seen her naked before". Gah!

IMDB, Yahoo and Superherohype all claimed she was cast, and some even had quotes from her about being on the set. Only Yahoo has any trace of her now. The rumor I heard was that the character was written out of the film.
Black Cat was also written out of the cartoon. IMDB has Eve as the Black Cat (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0290983/) but instead Eve played a similar new character called Cheyenne Tate aka The Talon. Perhaps WB thinks Black Cat is too much like catwoman and threatened to sue?

Well, I've never seen her naked, and don't plan to. It your own fault that you took a peek at her.

Hey, its not my fault the only Helen Mirren movies I've seen featured her totally nude or partially nude.

She's been in non-nude films before (eg The Prince of Egypt). You've just watched the wrong ones.

Um... Frosty.. who said anything about Jenna Jameson? Not that I know who that is... um.. yeah.. (I prefer Jenna Haze anyway. Ever see her in Naughy College School Girls 20? Wow.)
Anyway, there are few actresses who are like over40 that I'd like to see in leather. Though I am temped to say Sophia Loren since for some reason she is still damn fine. (Damn all too goregeous Italian women...) Of course if I was over 40 myself I'd likley sing a different tune.
Anyway, as for this mystery of the Black Cat.. I can only assume time and a future press release shall tell.

I don't see any reference to Jenna Jameson above, whoever she is.
And yeah, the Prince of Egypt was animated, and full of comics2film actors, or would-be comics2film actors - ie:
Val Kilmer - Batman - Moses
Michelle Pfieffer - Catwoman - Zipporah
Sandra Bullock - would-be Wonder Woman
Jeff Goldblum - would-be something or other - Aaron
Patrick Stewart - Prof X - Seti
Ralph Fiennes - would-be something or other - Pharoah
Helen Mirren - DK Hood's choice for Black Cat or Ultimate Aunt May - Seti's wife
Pretty cool, huh?

Ultimate Spider-Man has a major Black Cat storyline coming up so I was hoping this means Felicia would be in the next Spidey flick. It would be a nice addition to the onslaught of Doc Ock projects coming our way (two mini-series and a major storyline in Spectacular). Perhaps things are just being kept top secret at this point. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Here's the USA Today article. (http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2003-07-20-spider-man-side_x.htm)
So was it a hoax or was she written out at the last minute?

Sandy has been in touch with some more info on a few rumours surrounding Spider-Man 2 "Brooke Adams is currently on tour with Jessica Simpson (High School Tour) and during the Q&A she was asked about Spider-Man II. She WAS signed to Spider-Man II and DID film, but due to other commitment in other projects she dropped out. Later that week, director of the movie, Sam Raimi, debunked the rumor of Felicia Hardy being in the movie (too late to cast anyone new)... She did say, that in order to leave Spider-man II, she did have to sign on for Spider-man III. So look for her to be in Spider-man III, as there are already plans for it."</A>

Well at least she's got her priorities straight (that was sarcasm. IMO that was a rude thing to do, to sign on then just leave like that. Quite an inconveinance to the production I'm sure. Though I guess this also means that her role was quite small.
