Just wanted to know if the comics touch upon Peter's Parents and their past..
In the Ultimate line, when Spidey applies for FF membership, Mr. F pulls his files, and apparantly recognises Peter's dad. He then remarks to Peter that he respected his father and stuff.
So i'm asking, is this expanded upon anywhere?

*****************SPOILERS********************

Ultimate Universe:

The issue you're referring to is Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #9, Spidey and the FF. I think that issue can be safely dismissed because as we all know, the FF have been reimagined for the Ultimate line. However, the reference to Peter's father seems to have been accurate.

For more information concerning Ultimate Peter's parents, I refer you to the Venom arc in Ultimate #33-38 (since collected in trade). Without giving too much away, Pete's dad was a genetic researcher who was involved with a project that almost revolutionised modern medicine. Check it out, it's an interesting take on the Vemon mythos.

Marvel Universe:

This one is a bit trickier. In mainstream continuity it was originally believed that Peter's parents were international spies who had betrayed the U.S. and were killed in a plane explosion over Europe. In reality, they were U.S. agents who had infiltrated the Red Skull's spy organization. The Skull had them killed and framed for treason. Peter was eventually able to clear their name once and for all. For this story, I refer you to Amazing Spider-Man Annual (Volume One) #5, since reprinted in Essential Spider-Man #4.

Hope this helps...

I wouldn't even know where to begin to start, so I refer you to one of the most amazing pieces of journalism I've ever read on the internet. Be forewarned, you're going to have to invest a considerable amount of time as this is not light reading, but if you're an aspiring columnist this is how it's done! Everything you could ever want to know about the Clone Saga can be found by accessing the following link:

LOL! Then I would advise you not to start reading because once you do you won't be able to stop! I stayed up until 5am reading this stuff one night but was it ever fascinating. I've been reading Spider-Man comics for almost as long as I've been breathing and I own ever issue published since about 1977 (I can't afford to go back any further, the back issues get too expensive), yet I now look at the Clone Saga in an entirely new light. I think this should be required reading for any aspiring creators, just so they can get a taste of what may be in store for them... http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif
