what's up with people UIR'ing their own work today? (05/29/03)

i'm not trying to cause a stir here, but it seems pointless to UIR your own work.

you could just include that kind of stuff in your art notes. you could then spend the time that you would've spent to UIR your own work to help out another artist by UIR'ing their work.

call me funny, but i already know what i think of my work. it seems self indulgent to UIR your own work in a forum, when you can do it in your art notes.

is there such a thing as UIR etiquette, or am i just being bitchy?

I really only say this because i'm uir'ing all of the time and it never really occured to me if there were any real rules to UIR'ing.

Can't people just shush about these darn UIRs? They have caused just about as much trouble as the late rating system!

Look.. some people UIR, some don't and some UIR their own work.

Just let it be!

You can probably UIR your own work,

A: from the point of view of it's probably a week or so since you looked at the work and you might now see changes you could have made.

B: to add further explanation or clarification either because you are too lazy to go back and change the art notes (me mostly), or based on other's UIRs.

You probably shouldn't UIR your own work if all you want to say is the "this is sh*t, how did this get in? oh.. it's mine, never mind" kind of post. They aren't funny or clever. But that is my opinion.

so there are no rules. cool, now i know.

and what trouble have these caused? yeah some people take criticism too hard sometimes, but other than that they have been pretty smooth.

personally i liked the rating system, it made me work harder. but i understand why it had to go.

thanks for chiming in lara and localhero.
