You know, these No Topics are going by way to quickly. Gone are the days when you could just sit back and savour them...

Maybe they should stay alive longer than a page.

Here's the part I don't get..
We always have to click to the 2nd page to see what "whitty comment" Darth has givin us..
So why not just allow more posts?
And since that handy Page 1 2 thingy came around..
It would be so easy!
StrangeFish
05-27-2003, 03:44 PM
I think it's because Zac doesn't like clicking on the little 2... It must be some sort of trauma from his childhood...
And on a side note... MUST KILL THIEF BUGS!!! MUST KILL! KILL! KILL!
Who says violent computer games make susceptable children more violent?

Do I care? Not so much..
Do I still want to play the violent games? Oh hell yes, bring on "Enter The Matrix"!!!

I've always closed the No Topics once they reach 2 pages just to give someone else a try at starting a new one, but if everyone would prefer just one, really lengthy No Topic, then so be it.
WonderWomanGoddess
05-27-2003, 06:30 PM
I would NOT prefer it because I am on a really slow connection and the longer any topic, the more pages and posts, the longer it takes to load it. Up to like 2 minutes for a really long topic, esp. if my husband is online also, as we share a networked connection.
Just my vote. And I actually do not bother to check Zac's 2nd page posts, tho I'm sure they are witty http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif

LaraCroft

WWG, takes that long even if you click directly to the 2nd page?
btw, I wouldn't prefer one no topic.. but it'd be cool if the no topics could last a bit longer.
WonderWomanGoddess
05-27-2003, 07:02 PM
The new page numbering system has helped but it still takes much longer if there are a lot of pages. It's proportional. It also is because I tend to have multiple windowns open.
Anyway, I'll not complain if everyone else wants to change it, but I like the current method.

Maybe the "No Topic" discussions should be limited to one page only. That is end it in one page so that lazy people dont have to click on the next page to see your witty comments.

You looked very zooty in that suit! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif I loved the make-up... It made you all creepy.
In other news, Fishie's Ragnarok addiction is going well. I made Archer (http://web.ecomplanet.com/PRAB3098/ServerContent/MyCustomImages/PRAB3098CustomImage3053772.gif)! w00t! I have the best little bow in the world (thank you, random stranger, who gave me that bow!), and a spiffy little knife and a ribbon in my hair, so I look pretty while kicking butt.

Okay, for those of you who haven't already seen them...
First Pic (http://www.mecha.com/~jim/images/jimpics/baycon2003/jimjoker1.jpg)
Me, in the Zoot Suit, without the makeup.
Second Pic (http://www.mecha.com/~jim/images/jimpics/baycon2003/jimjoker2.jpg)
Me, getting into character by beating up a friend with a rolled up battlemat.
Third Pic (http://www.mecha.com/~jim/images/jimpics/baycon2003/jokermob1.jpg)
Me and my Mob. That's Jack, with the lobster, Ace, with the sparkly legs, and Queenie with the hat. I enjoyed my Mob. They were silly and intimidating. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif
Fourth Pic (http://www.mecha.com/~jim/images/jimpics/baycon2003/jokerharleyqueen1.jpg)
This is AFTER the makeup. I kept looking at myself going "Who IS that? Oh, it's ME! SWEET!" My Harley did the makeup. Took her twenty minutes for each of us, for about an hour in total. Except for the fact that she was missing her diamonds, her costume was perfect, I tell you. No one recognized us under the paint. It was great. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif
Fifth Pic (http://www.mecha.com/~jim/images/jimpics/baycon2003/jokerharleyqueen2.jpg)
Ahhhhh.... Evil Bat-Villains in Love. Ain't it terrifying?
Sixth Pic (http://www.mecha.com/~jim/images/jimpics/baycon2003/jokerharleyddr.jpg)
And the Pie d'Resistance (yes, I meant it that way), the Joker and Harley playing DDR. The way the game was MEANT to be played. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif
There ya go.

The guest was Renee Zelweger promoting Down With Love. Sorry bub, this was the "week after" repeat that the late night shows have(after Carson Daly) so unless the skit shows up on the internet you won't see it again(not for a long time anyway).
And for the record, it was just as funny the second time seeing it. Now I actually want to watch Matrix Reloaded again.

The base bodies are two online aquaintences of mine. One is his wife and the other is her friend. Apparently it is a pic they took together at a con or something. All of their pictures are copyrighted at Adventurersplace.com where I'm a member.
Hope he forgot so the pic doesn't have to come down! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Well is the Adventurersplace.com his site? Maybe its a good time to read the fine print and check your rights as a member. Anyways, nice job by lady D. But why are there two of you.
People will do anything to annoy others...or for money. Remember that lady who successfully sued McDonald's because she spilled "hot" coffee on herself?
Also there was a guy who also sued McD's because the hamburger CONTAINED meat!!! Now...even his lawyer said he was "misinformed". Sounds stupid to me.
EDITED cause im stupid.

I vote to leave the no topic open untill it becomes potbellied and doublechinned, dons a white sparkly jumpsuit to practice faux karate moves in Las Vegas, and is found dead on a toilet of constipation...
...or failing that at least until page 3

Lara, he'd be unlikely to succeed in court so long as the picture has been considerably altered, or if you had the wifes permission.
Copyright on the web is kinda crazy I mean according to copyright you're not allowed to make copies, but you have to in order to view an internet pict (you cache it).
I mean it's not like you're trying to make money off of it, so you'd get by on fair use.

On a side note, am I the only one who can't use the search facilities for the DCG?

In regards to the "copyrighted" picture, I think the guy is just being a jerkoff. All I had to do on Google was do an image search for 'Witchblade cosplay' and I found the base pic, so ofcourse lots of people will probably see it and repost it on their sites and what not.
Also, this guy doesn't own Witchblade or Lara Croft. I don't know if he's making any money off the picture itself, but the whole website focuses around people dressing up like copyrighted characters, so you could always throw that at him.
Finally, I see very few copyright statements at the bottom of the page. SO what if it says "All pictures are copyright bla bla blah". The DCG even has a message like that, however if someone used one of our pics, we couldn't sue them because we haven't made any money in the first place.
This guy is just being an a-hole

hey guys been some time since i last left a message to get on your nerves. Anyway i have something i need to tell someone or i will crack, the story starts like this 5 weeks ago i whent out with my best friend, We whent to see one of his friends we got drunk http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/crazy.gif his girlfriend(Hot) got naked and we took some photos(fun night).Later she fell out with him and started crying http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/frown.gif so i gave her a shoulder to cry on and we spent the rest of the night togther and i got off with her a few times after that but she now says she loves my best friend but he just use's her to get one thing and then tells me me all this crap about how she does his head in and gets me to lie to her about everything. So far me and her are great friends we meet almost every day (when he only see's her at the weekend) i whould all so say we get on better every time he upsets her i have to cheer her up, so long story short she love him he use's her and i don't no what the hell to do i can spilt them up easy but don't want to hurt her and risk her never talking to me again what do you guys think???

Well, if you know it would be best for her to break up with that guy, methinks breaking them up would be the best thing to do. Sure it may cause her to not like you, but at least you'll know she's better off. And hey, she might see how that guy was taking advantage of her, and will like you even more for it.

Capt, you're screwed either way. No matter what you do. Accept that, and then do something crazy that just throws it all in the air. If they're your friends they'll cling to you.
