06/06/03 UIR

sorry this UIR might be a little rough. i've had a tough day, i'll try not to let it effect me.

alternate bat cast: i'm just going to ask it. are you actively trying to improve your work or is manipping just a hobby for you. I mean it's cool if it's a hobby i just don't see any progression.

spidey coloured: nice additions. the venom reflections are nice. is the spidey effect along the same lines as the powerball effect i posted in the hint and tips section?

last son: i like this version better than the neon glow version. both versions are nice this one just looks better to me.

hulk and wolverine: to hard to see.

kingdom come: looks nice. the layout of characters is nice...still blurry on some. the batman piece is nice. captain marvel looks a touch grainy, crisp him up a little.

hourman: his left quad looks like it's a flowing piece of material rather than muscle. the definition is lost. also for as big as this guy is his arms seem small, forearms especially. great job on the cape and the costume. this is nice work, don't let my earlier comments discourage you, those points are minor as this is really something to be pleased with.

angel warrior: again, nice work.

teen mystique: rather than just go with a color change, paint, or overlay on the skin...try to attempt some tones. the blue is fine it just doesn't have any high points to it.

sprite: i totally forgot she used to be called that. looks nice to me...maybe keep a more sustained line on the costume in spots.

gambit: interesting.

spider woman: nice attempt at the hair. the costume itself is a touch painty and blurry. one of your better actual manips.

cap marvel 10: nice, very nice. nothing to say that i haven't already said nice work. favorite pic of the update.

jla: why not hve your sister color the rest? nice work.

mature man of steel: nice cartoony look to him. he seems soft though, maybe it's the lack of straight lines.

xmen c2f: cool. nice work all around. no complaints.

spidey: nice compilation of images. created spidy from scratch, you suck :-). nice work. you used terragen, have you seen mojoworld...damn spiffy world editor.

Great work by the Hood - Spidey looks great and the angle is cool. The webs look like Todd Macfarlane's webs.

Hey Lh, I was playing around with your spidey pict as the contrast wasn't quite sitting right with me. I came up with this: http://www.spikeor.com/lh.jpg
I think the red border should be changed, but I think the lighter red is less in your face. Also the awesome shading on the legs really sticks out.

My monitor here is really dark..no matter how i play about with the settings..so sometimes the pics don't turn out quite how i expect them to look. they look fine on my pc but washed out on my big dell monitor at work..sigh.. time to dip into the old money pot...

btw thanks for the comments guys

EDIT: oh.. dperceful the spidey sense was done by using a couple of gradient fills into a 'sun-flare' shaped selection. this was then smudged about and the layer blend mode set to dodge.

This is dsimpsons1 - the creator of the X-men: Comics2Film picture. Thanks for the comment. Might I add that this work was totally from scratch, nothing but pencil and colored pencils. Watch for my new Daredevil pencil drawing. It should be posted soon. Thanks again.

That is actually a very good concept well executed. You nailed the facial characteristics of the characters together with both sets of uniforms. The only thing I would have preferred would be if the whole pic had been coloured in the different styles. Can't wait to see more of your work.
