X3: Kitty's Dream... by localhero:
Nice job, in my mental image of his organic steel I see it a bit more smoothed out. I think I know what your going for with the face but I think the blue glows a bit much. Just my view of it. How long did it take you to pull this off, I havent tried a Colossus yet I fear it would take forever to make a good looking organic steel effect.

The Jokes On You by Kombat Wombat:
As a patriot I feel the need to punch you in the face http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif but as a person with a good sense of humor I feel the need to laugh my ass off. Good job. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Mystique, Phoenix And Rouge by jazzler46:
I see very little effort in this http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/frown.gif All you did was change their skin color, come on now.

Storm by B:
Well you already mentioned about the hair and boots, so all I have to add on to that is to smooth out your edges they have that step look to them, other wise a pretty good job.

Summer @ Titans Island: Arsenal by d_authority:
He has small hands.

Spider-woman by The_Vampire:Spider:
Grr I dont like how the eye looks after the compression http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/frown.gif

And they're off
Spider-man #50 Cover Recreation by Hughes:
The spider-man top left looks very blurry. The spider man in the background looks cool but is also slightly blurry. As for Pete he looks funny his left side looks very large compared to the right. Good job on it for the most part.

New Warriors: Timeslip by Ed Cheng:
She has a flat look to her, some baground would be nice the greyish color just makes the picture boreing.

Ashboy by Chicoceniza:
Nice detail. What did you edit with PSP? Every thing looks like you drew it.

Beyond Belief by Cinnder:
I always like seeing batman beyond work. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif Your lighting is off though. Nice job blening the arms on. Poor Terry his left ear got bent, must have fallen http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/tongue.gif and the head is too dark its hard to make out its features. As for chest bat the robin symbol is alot skinnier thatn the bat beyond bat but you at least made it look like a bat so I ll let it pass. The background looks awesome very Gothem, not New Gothem but its still cool looking.

Talking Back Is Bad For Your Health!!!
by Super Max:
Your Mystique not bad needs more definition, and some clean up around the edges of her hair. Rogue though looks like a relative of Terrance and Phillip. She opp I mean he needs alot of work

Biker Lantern by Junfan:
I like it. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Dean Cain As Wonder Warrior!!!
by rayray2021:
You should find a less grainy base picture. Also the pockets dont look like pockets seems like his hands have just disappered. And I know you go tthat weird program that doesnt let you edit once closed so the rest I know is due to your tools. You really got to get a better program so you can pop unleash all you abilities.

Clea by Ray:
Great Job.

Wonder Granny by MysticMorgan:
I dont know what to say http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/confused.gif Its a exalent manip but its very disturbing. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/confused.gif

Mayaww by CoffeeCat665:
Looks cool, her right brest seem out of proportion to the left, but at least they are not sagging http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif Over all nice job.

I think it only took a few hours to do this.

As for the blue... that on his face was on the source pic.. I had to try and match it on the metals..hehe.. maybe I should have desaturated him a bit!! ah well.. better luck next time.

Btw.. I am well chuffed.. Front Page 2 days in a row!!! Somebody up there must like me!

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find good pictures of futuristic cities. Anyway, the image lost a lot in compression. As for the lighting, I was in a hurry and merely darkened the existing image of the city.

Some good stuff and some unusual stuff today.

Those that immediately grabbed my attention were the Clea by Ray, and the Colossus by Local Hero. Good work on the metal.

Good concept too on the Spider-Woman by Vampire Soldier. But I was trying to figure out what that thing is in the top left hand corner. Is it a comic or is it meant to be a ventilation shaft?

Slightly more disturbing are the Wonder Granny, Dean Cain and George W Bush pictures. Cain looks a bit like a Chippendale. I didn't realise when you click on the Bush keyword that there are so many pictures of him here in the gallery. What is up with that? And the Wonder Granny is just plain scary. Don't do that again!

uir 06/18/03

x3: very cool. no real complaints. maybe for the dividing lines, but really they are not necessary. good work.

jokes on you: clearly take more time with your manips. done on a lunch break, it shows.

mystique, phoenix, rogue: again it's rogue. text is real hard to read. it's just changed hues, nothing outrageous. i've seen better from you.

storm: nice work. it's not your best, but it is still good. the face is a little blurry. you have the costuming down, i think with just a few layer modes the costuming would look less painty and more realistic.

arsenal: someone needs a bikini wax. honestly just looking at the thumbnail he looks kind of feminine. still it's good pose, good flesh texture, nice lighting.

spider woman: maybe do a little stronger light source on the cosutme, just to give it some light pop here and there. fishnets are good. other than that this is fine. i would make the comic image a little easier to read.

spiderman recreation: is that tobey? his nose looks like it got smushed. maybe blacken up the "spider man no more" text. overall nice work, could use some clean up in spots.

new warriors: read any of my other uir's on your work.

ashboy: neat. i like the lines and the inkwork is cool.

beyond belief: the head seems off kilter, but that happens with frankensteining. bad choice on text, in my opinion, i would go with something futuristic, this text looks like the text from fractured fairy tales.

talking back: i just don't know here. i'll give you points for trying.

biker lantern: nice costume design. it's still just changed hues but you definitely have a good eye for costuming.

wonder warrior: clean up the base image. you could use the new look dean cain (he has a gotee) and make him the evil twin :-)

clea: wow, really cool. nice work, no complaints.

wonder granny: i'm just scared. nice humorous concept, but ewwwww.

maya ww: nice b/w retouch. good job on the hair. maybe some text or a background.

Thanks Deperceval (hope I spelled that right).

MayaWW was my first submision. I have another version where she is in front of the Acropolis, but it was just too huge for posting.

Incidentally, I really miss Oompa Loompas (Willy Wonka's predecessor to Reese's Pieces). Damn. Now I'm hungry.

I'm new to this (introduced by local comic shop owner); but I really must say that I'm REALLY impressed by a lot of the work in here!

It also makes my heart feel good to hear that 3/4 of the submissions are NOT by professionals (I was an Illustrator in the Army but do not have the right mind set for college).
Further proof that you don't have to have a degree to do the work.
Just ask Leonardo.

Hey Vampire Spider! Thanks! Re: MayaWW-
Her breasts are not, um, misshapen, lopsided, etc. If you look at her shoulders one is higher than the other indicating contrapasto (distribution of weight). However, that contrapasto only took place in the photo of Laura San Giacomo. The rest of the form, has it's weight firmly planted on both feet. Thus the apparent...shift?

But I certainly appreciate your critique!

Thanks (to all) for the comments. Just to clarify a couple things...

1. I don't have Photoshop and the software I use doesn't support layers, unfortunately. (I wish it did; it would make this stuff easier...)

2. I like the painted look, and it's intentional. The problem thus (from my perspective, at least) is not that the costume looks too painted, but that the rest of the image looks too realistic... Nonetheless, thanks for the critique!

A Mac-only (I believe) program called "Color It!" It's not the best, but it's quite flexible, and I got it for free.

I'd love to have Photoshop, but I can't really afford it just now, being a starving student and all...
