Great work Localhero. Nice lighting and beautiful colors. I'll start on your custom figure as soon as you send me some reference photos *including full body shots for clothing reference* firstname.lastname@example.org.

I said thanks in the contest thread, but i will also say it here...
THANKS http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif it was a great surprise to wake up to. This was a lot of work, because I had actually got about a thrid of the way through coloringit using the small version of the base pic from the gallery, but when the large version became available I switched to that which meant a bit of rework, but I think it paid off (size reduction always hides a multitude of sins. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/tongue.gif ) Once again, thanks to the judges and...
...I think everyone who submitted should be very proud of their work, it is some of the best I have ever seen here on DCG.
Roger Wilco: Love you're golds and those specular highlights.. they rock
ali786: Nice painted feel to this. Me like.
Daniel Zarco: WOW.. how moody is this. Great use of shading. Those reds on iron man are superb.
the 'late' bearbot: I know you missed the contest dude, which is a damn shame, cos this is some fine work. The galvanized metal look to the main part of steel works well. (I see you went with a moon background too :P )
aka Hunk McCoy "Is it true what they say about guys with big feet? Yes they do need big shoes."
"So let me fill my children's hearts, With heroes tales and hope it starts, A fire in them so deeds are done, With no vain sighs for moments gone."

Well, had time, so here it is, the UIR...
Painting Contest: Digital Art by Roger Wilco-Nice, I like the metallic surfaces effect and the background.
Painting Contest: Iron And Steel by ali786-I like Iron Man, but I think Steel came out a little bland and flat.
Comic Book Alfred by joker21 –Could be a bit bigger, and the mostache seems to be uneven, good cencept tho.
Clarice-i Don't Hide Anymore by Razor-good model, smooth out the edge of the eyes with the smodge tool and make the purple “tattoo marks” a little darker.
Painting Contest Winner: Iron Man Vs Steel by localhero –CONGRADULATIONS! BOB…TELL HIM WHAT HE’S WON! Love the read you added on Steel’s symbol!
The Grey Ghost by Kombat Wombat-Love it, absolutely Love it!
Depp As Remy by Ladye Niyte Wolfe-I like the two contracting pics, and also the fact that you did this from a b & w photo. Good job.
Painting Contest:¡la Tuerca Porque La Mía by Daniel Zarco-Very Impressive, I like that you added IM’s refection into Steel’s front armor, nice touch.
Kc Flash by Chicoceniza-body’s good, but the head needs work.
New Warriors: Dagger by Ed Cheng –smodge the edges a little bit and make sure you cover up ALL of the body, you still have skin showing around the edges.
Belated Uncommonx : Blitz by swingerbone-I like the textureing of the costume.
G.i.joe: Flint And Battle by Misato-WOW! WOW WOW WOW! That’s all I have To Say!
Wildduck by Kombat Wombat –hahahaha! Freaking Hillarious! Could be bigger tho.
World War Phantom by coinbox-The head’s a little off, but everything else it perfect.
Red_rogue by crash-Drooollll…ARTIST NOTES PLEASE!
Painting Contest: Iron And Steel: Too Lat by bearbot-The metal is VERY realistic, nice job!
Untill next time, watch out for cows.
Death To The Cows!

The GI Joe pic by Misato is really nice.

uir, it's a day late but it's better than nothin.
roger wilco: very nice. nice work on iron man, the detail on him is very good. i really like the background, pretty neat. steel seem like the weaker of the two characters. he just seem too blue. maybe some light pop or spraks where he got punched? trust me, this is great looking stuff, worthy of portfolio, i'm just throwing out some ideas.
ali786: very cool. nice texturing on steel, i don't know if it was intentional but it has this look to it. i think the glows on iron man are just not glowing, but they are a nice attempt. maybe a more interesting background. nice work.
alfred: hairline, moustache and eyebrows. the hairline is a bit smudgy.
blink: whassup with the black splotch on the left eye? smooth out the edges of the eyes.
localhero: nice work. i really like steek, i think he is the stand out character in this piece. the steel colors are really rich and nice looking. the detailed piping work is nice, just the right amount of shading and lighting to make them stick out. interesting background. i like the thrusters on iron man, very subtle and nice. the piping on iron man seems flatter than steel's, i don't know...maybe it's just me. nice work, congrat on winning.
grey ghost: i would decrease the overall size of this image. it seems a little large. nice job on the goggle. the blending work you did was very good as well.
depp: the coloring job is almost there. i think you need to bring out some skin tones, maybe offer a few more pinks, reds, magentas, etc. maybe a power signature, or his little costume face thing?
daniel zarco: wow! really cool looking steel. the light reflections on him are really cool looking. definitely the stand out character of this piece. don't get me wrong iron man is nice, but i think steel just really pops out at me. the thrust from iron man is think is a touch sharp, but that could be what your going for. nice work.
flash: neat. i have no real complaints. maybe down the road try a blur/zoom effect to simulate speed.
dagger: eek! what happened to her breasts. i'm not trying to be a pervert or sexist, but you totally got rid of the cleavage. you lost the appearance of breasts, especially the right one. yeah, i know there there, i just don't see them. your edges could use clean up.....what am i saying that i haven't told you before.
blitz: interesting angle. the face seems flat, maybe thats why it just looks weird to me. maybe try a casted shadow on the danger room, there is obviously light coming down on him.
gi joe: bitchin! the coolest part about this is looking through the image and saying, yep i had that, my friend had that, i wish i had lady jaye (scarlett was alright, but honestly all of us guys that grew up with the cartoon wanted lady jaye, covergirl, or baroness). really cool stuff.
wildduck: cool. neat looking, no real complaints. maybe cast the shadow better, it doesn't start at his feet...it just kinda is projected back.
pahntom: nice. his head seems misshapened. i think the sky is alright, maybe some reds and blacks, but it works. i really like the tearing stuff going on in the foreground.
red rogue: nice shades. the white hair is decent....maybe smooth out the lines a little better.
bearbot: sweet. i think both characters are equal here. i like the contrast is steel, the dark and light metals. the lighitng job on iron man is really good, he really pops out at me.
sorry i had to shorten the last few reviews, my chicken is out of the oven and i ahve 2 cats who like to get into trouble and eat my diner, so i gotta run.
good job by all.

Hi all! I'm new here!!! Thank you very much for appreciating my artwork!! I made it some years ago, and when I heard about the G.I.Joe contest I immediately thought I could participate with this one... too bad it's coloured, so I think it won't be taken in account... anyway, I am glad you like it!!
