just for you:

x3 phoenix: nice. i like the flames. good job of compiling images. holy s**t, is that Fammke? if so she is hardly recognizable, maybe you used the body and pasted the head, if so great job. i like the hair, but how about some flowing, blowing in the breeze hair? just a suggestion.

Actually, that's the way everyone in the UK writes their calendar dates. It's just the same as saying 3rd of July 2003 instead of July 3rd 2003.

It looks perfectly alright to me.... But then again, I spell it "colour" and say "zed" ... http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/rolleyes.gif
*defrosts voice for purposes of UIR*

~~ The Joker's Yearbook ~~
That's an unfortunate yearbook picture. I'm so grateful I look like a goddess in mine. Regardless of how nerdy I was all through high school, that yearbook will cement me firmly in the "Babe" section. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif The skin recolour is really cool, but there's a lot of messiness with the hair and clothes. If this was neater, it'd look sharper and more in focus. Maybe add some clubs he was in?

~~ CONAN ~~
Pretty nifty. The drawing is great. The only thing I can think of to critise on the lines is that his nipples seem misplaced. Great eyes. He looks psychotic, which is probably appropriate. Maybe try upping the shine on the metals? They look a bit flat. Somehow I don't think he'd wear bright green pants. Good job. Congrats on FP. It took me forever to realise that getting FP was something cool!

~~ JILL VALENTINE'S CITY ~~
Somehow the girl doesn't quite blend in with the background. I think it's something about how grainy the background is, and how smooth and saturated she is. Did you add that white shirt around her hips? If you did, it looks great!

~~ X3: Phoenix Rising ~~
Very, very nice, Ryan. The colours are gorgeous and the flames look great. I agree with DP, though, her hair should be moving about. Also, it'd be great if we could see one of her hands. If you look above the X in the text, you can see four blurs. Just fingers, right there, cupping something, and emerging from the fire. Her face looks great. She looks wicked and bored. Awesome job, and well done on FP. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Rest of UIR in a bit.

uir

joker's yearbook: nuff said? he looks stoned, not crazy and insane. nice work on the recolor...his skin spotty, i can see some hints of flesh tone peeking out. nice job on the hair.

parker porfolio: how about a web coming out of his right hand? again nice work.

robin: moody and very cool. i love the background and text.

two face: you did this in paint, wow! nice work, especially for paint.

conan: very nice. nice muscalature. the nipples seem a little high and centered on his pecs though. still, great work.

ivy thatcher: scary. just scary. the sad part is her skin could look like this.

a night in his own right: nice. i totatlly agree with our comments in the art notes, this is nothing to him, it's a reflex.

the phantom: as always, wow. very good work. i like the subtle skin tones.

jill valentine: nice work. the top and tie around garment are very well done. good work on the skirt as well. perfect background, it's a little rough but for the RE series it works.

akira movie poster: not bad for a first pic, really good actually. you might like this link http://psychoform.com/htmlgallery/hardsurface.htm

check out his 3d models of kaneda's bike.

deadly desire: keanu looks cool. i'm not too familiar with the sandman series but I have seen it. not bad for a first attempt. i would offer more advice if i knew more of the charcters looks. since i'm a little busy today i don't have the time to research it.

jean rising: it's a little small. i like the attempt at fire on the water, it's just hard to see. still nice work.

dark phoenix adventures: nice compilation of images. they could use some clean up though, they are a little grainy.

marvel girl: really nice. i love the grenn on the dress, it gives it that micro fiber look. really nice work, the hair is a little rough, but hair is a pain, i know from personal experience. i think this is one of your better pieces, if not best.

batman: i agree with your art notes. i think the symbol is too far over. the cape is well done, i would put a little more loft into it since he is running. still, nice work.

I know this is probably hard for you to understand, but ‘on this planet’ there's more countries than just the USA http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the reviews dperceful & SF. Some nice suggestions from both. Dperceful if you look in the art notes it has a link to the original pic, it’s defiantly Fammke, no frankensteing either =)

I was going to do the hair blowing but I was having a bad hair day. I was finding it harder than usual creating the hair for some reason. My excuse is she’s still wet from the water, hard to believe surrounded in flames I know =S lol

UIR continues.... Wow, it's like Jean Grey appreciation day today.

~~ The Dark Phoenix Adventures ~~
What's that strange line along the middle of the image? It's a really great layout, very strong, but you might want to save the next one as a JPEG. That'll stop the dithering and you'll get more fluid colours. Welcome to the DCG. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

~~ Akira Movie Poster (Teaser) ~~
The proportions look slightly off on the frankensteining, like his head is too big. And the hair doesn't sit right. The tire looks good, though, and the layout is nice and strong. Good stuff.

~~ But she was though, wasn't she! ~~
*runs away screaming* Though she's got gorgeous hips for a woman her age. o_O Does Poison Ivy have green skin? If so, I've never noticed that before.

~~ Parker's Portfolio Preview #3 ~~
Good job, as usual, but the landscape photographer in me is screaming about keeping the horizon level! *lmao*

~~ Robin poster 2 ~~
It's an awesome layout, and the base image looks great, but overall, it's just a little too dark. I think if you played with the contrast in this image, you'd wind up with something stunning. Just run a dodge tool over the main features of the face to make them stand out a bit more. And lightening the eyes would give a bit more of a dramatic impact. The background is great, and I love the font at the top.

~~ A Knight in His Own Right ~~
I like the pose. I can't comment on whether or not it's in character, but I think one of the boomerangs should be slightly smaller. And a background would be nice. Good job.

~~ deadly desire ~~
Hmmm, Keanu makes a nice Dream. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif Lady D (the DCG's Endless obsessed diva; I suggest if you like the Endless, look at her stuff) once cast Winona Ryder as Desire, which I thought worked nicely. I think this image would work better if you just had one of the characters, rather than both. The two head-shots don't really work together, and unless you're willing to fix differences in lighting, I'd say seperate the two. The background is really cool, and works well with Dream, but I see Desire in something ... sexier. Welcome to the DCG! I like your site. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

~~ Marvel Girl ~~
Very nice work! The dress looks great, but maybe turn the saturation on it down just a little bit? The gloves and boots look good, too, but there's a little bit of a mess around the heels. And the text at the bottom needs to be erased. You got a good shape on the mask, but it's lacking some of the texture and depth that's in the gloves and boots. Try using the clone (or rubber stamp) tool to mimic the texture. Her hair is a little too red. It needs more contrast and it's too bright, too. I think your work is definately improving. Keep it up! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

~~ BaTmAn ~~
Nice pose, but the anatomy is slightly off. His calves look like mine, and I'm not a superhero. *is cursed with skinny calves* >_< I do like his face, though, and the cloak looks good. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif Nice to see you posting again.

~~ Jean Rising ~~
I really like the colours on this image. Maybe try doing something similar but with more of your own work? The frankensteined head is slightly too large, and I'd suggest moving the layer with the eyes behind the Jean layer (head and body). The eye layer also needs to be blended in more. There's a very distinct line where it ends, and it cuts the image into two.

~~ The Phanton ~~
Lovely work! Her skin looks great, and everything is so clean.

~~ Two-Face ~~
Great shape and I like his expression. I think you need to add a bit more of cel-shading to it, maybe some highlights. And some texture to his hair. Also, if you save in GIF format, instead of JPEG, you'll get a cleaner image without any pixellation. Welcome to the DCG! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

That's me done. Let me know if I've forgotten anyone, or managed to annoy. Remember, this is just my opinion. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

It's not big and it's not clever, but it is a UIR...

The Joker's Yearbook - joker21: Concept is good, execution is a bit sloppy. You have a lot of color bleed going on. If your paint program has a lasso tool use this to select the area you are going to colour. This will prevent you spilling over the edges. As for the colors themselves, a little more variation in the tones chosen would give a more realistic feel.**

Parker's Portfolio Preview #3 - localhero: Mine http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif Bear with me, this is building up to something…

Robin poster 2 - Juliechan27: I like the layout and color choice on this one, although it is a little dark. I would have perhaps chosen one font and stuck with it throughout the piece, the multiple fonts are a little distracting. As a single work it does lack a little dramatic impact, but as part of a larger series of similar promo posters it could work.***

Two-Face - Sonic1002: First off, welcome to the DCG. Good work for Paint. Nice clean lines and good color choice. If you were going to expand on this piece, I would suggest building up scarring on the burned side of the face, and also more shading(although I know shading in Paint is a real pig to do). A suitable background would also add a whole new dimension. Check out iamspartachris's works in the gallery for some good examples of Paint work.**

Conan - Laughing Bear: ARRRGH CAPS. See my comments on Wolvie, regarding backgrounds and what not. Also reducing the pictures in size prior to submitting them may help resolve that blurry look you have going on.**

But she was though, wasn't she - Kombat Wombat: It doesn't say it all .. At all.. Art Notes my friend.. They say it all. I presume you bonded Maggies face to a Poison Ivy(I think) model. Same problem as yesterday with the different jpeg artifacting on the different sources also the blending with the background is a little messy. You get my award for the strangest titles though.**

A Knight in His Own Right - Spiderman620815: Nice. Good dynamic action and proportions seem just about right. Much Much better than yesterday. Would like to see this inked and colored with a background.***

The Phanton - jjmarriero: Phanton? If this is the same Phantom I am familiar with, isn't he traditionally in purple? Other than that niggle nice work again. Not sure about the wavy smudged edge.. But that’s just me.***

JILL VALENTINE'S CITY - stillhbk: The noisy background detracts from the good clear work you did on the costuming. The top looks nice, but still a bit painty.***

Akira Movie Poster (Teaser) - CapnCannibal: The head looks a bit big and it would have been good if you had followed through on your intentions. As it is the bike looks a bit flat compared to the wheel.**

deadly desire - digitized: Welcome to DCG. A nice start to your posting career.Pretty good work on Dream. It kind of looks like they are joined at the torso, and the scales seem to be a bit off. I agree Jolie is too overtly feminine to be Desire..**

Jean Rising - PhoenixRedd: I like the concept but the pic is just too small to make out the details properly. As far as I can tell the overlay of the eyes in the background needs tidying up as you can see lines runing accross Jean's front. I also wonder why Jean would be wearing a dress that looks like it came out of Elizabeth Taylor's Cleopatra wardrobe?**

X3: Phoenix Rising - RyanArya: Nice work. I guess the look you were going for in Jean's face is otherworldly http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif if so you got it. Good job layering on the flames and the hair looks top. Excellent.****

The Dark Phoenix Adventures by AngelRogue - AngelRogue: Welcome. Good job cutting and pasting. Again, I would have chosen a single font and stuck with it.**

Marvel Girl - TheFriendly2x4: Good job on the coloring. The 'gloves' still look a bit painty but it's not too bad. Hair is a bit too red maybe. Nice art notes too.***

Batman - morph: Poor Batman seems to be suffering from some debilitating joint disorder that gives him a silly walk. Check out the Anatomy links in the Hints'n'Tips thread for some good advice on drawing bodies.**
