Christmas in July!

Tis the season for we members of the DCG to partake in 'Christmas in July'!!! In case anyone is unfamiliar with the rules, here you go:

Post a message in this topic stating that you would like to CREATE and RECIEVE an X-Mas in July DCG gift. Be sure to include your e-mail address. After the "I-Want-In!" deadline (which will be June 17th, next Tuesday), an as-of-now-unknown collaborator and I will send an e-mail to all the people interested. From there, everyone will 'Reply All' with a list of characters that they would like to be maniped into. From there, me and whoever will randomly pick Secret Santas for everyone, and e-mail them about who their victim shall be. You will have the next few weeks to manip that person (using the handy dandy DCG Photo Album) into anyone you want (preferably someone on their list). You then submit your pic like any other theme day and wait for them to be posted, keeping your gift receipitant a secret!

the title will be "****Xmas N July: <title>" and the "I-Want-IN!" deadline will be the June the 17th! Then, the picture deadline will be July 15th!

Also, I want to mention that if you don't have a picture in the DCG Photo Album, then you need to send one in before the "I-Want-In" deadline. To send one in, send an e-mail with your photo (jpeg, please) to dcgpix@yahoo.com with your user name in the subject. If you don't have a picture on your computer, either get one and send it in, or otherwise you cannot participate in the X-Mas Day.

Good for you! Unfortunately, my old motherboard for my ex-computer is still giving me grief (I got one, it was the correct specification, but didn't quite fit) so I'm essentially having to do everything from scratch on a new computer. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/frown.gif

Yeah, my old power supply failed, and in doing so managed to fuse itself to the motherbard... so I tried to disconnect it to replace it and I had to break the melted plastic to get it off. I can only use my grandma's laptop to access the internet... dial-up, so I have been without Photoshop or any decent imaging software for the duration... I also thought my new motherbard was shot, but it was just the case stand-offs shorting the board which kept it from powering on.

Welshie, did you get the wrong form factor? like I know motherboards come in sizes like ATX and Micro ATX... this is also the designation for cases... is that why it didn't fit?

I get my computer stuff from Newegg.com... great place, gets it out quick and if you aren't satisfied they are totally cool about taking it back and all. I also use Pricewatch.com to look for prices and the forums at Anandtech.com are mighty helpful for looking for deals or getting help and advice.

ANyway, back to the topic... I'm expecting to get my pic in on time... despite my PC being comatose I still did a bunch of prelim work looking for info and backgrounds and stuff, so I just have to get it all together and stuff.

I will do my best to deliever my present and not a lump of coal... and I don't forsee any more hurdles... but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

But, when I log on to C2F to upload my seemingly belated X-Mas present, the update is X-mas in July free. Then, after consulting the boards, I came across this:

He found out about it because I emailed him frantically last night about Menace not having his pic in. I was asking him to leave a spot for his, so it could be uploaded as soon as it was submitted.

and THAT'S when I found out the due date was different in the thread. Zac and I had been talking about it with the 14th as the due date for weeks!

The good news: now everyone is in and everyone wil have a gift. Plus, since it's on Friday, we'll be up all weekend!
