So far I like both shows, but I am leaning towards Surface more than Invasion.
Invasion sometimes comes across as some wierd soap opera at other times its great.
Surface I have liked the whole way through so far.
What do you guys think?

I guess I have to admit to watching Invasion quite a bit. I'm an avid Lost watcher and since Invasion comes on afterwards and there's nothing really on the other channels that drives me to it, I've been watching the show.
You're right though. Sometimes alittle too much about the relationships angle and less about the actual aliens.
I'd like to see more storylines involving the sea angle, the hurricane angle, and the aliens themselves.
Still, as long as it comes on after Lost, I'll probably continue catching it.

I'm taping this series for later (next summer when there is nothing to watch). And I have to admit that I'm looking forward to it!

I just cant see how they can continue Invasion as a "community seperated by a hurricane" and go onto another season. I mean - its got tob ecome re-connected to the rest of the world some day?
I mean, I like it, dont get me wrong.

I really like Surface. And now that Arrested Development has been cancelled (damn you Fox!!), I'll be able to watch this regularly without having to rely on replays on the SciFi channel.
As for Invasion...I tried watching the first couple of episodes, but I've found it to be reaaaalllly boring. It suffers a lot from the 'we really don't know where we're going with this concept' that has also plagued (and turned me off from) Lost.
With Surface, you can actually see the story moving along (and quite briskly too) as if it had an actual outline (imagine that). Invasion doesn't seem to have that going for it.

They've only shown the first few episodes of each over here, and both are decent enough, but I can't say that either has really blown me away.
'Invasion' is pretty slow, and kinda derivative (at least, so far), but I do like the actors in it. Or, more specifically, William Fichtner, who rarely disappoints.
'Surface' is more fun, and anything from the creators of 'G vs. E' is worth a look, but the characters seem really thinly drawn. And Lake Bell is a truly unconvincing scientist.

I haven't seen "Surface," but I have been watching "Invasion." I like it. They've been doling out the info fairly slowly, but things are picking up lately. I especially like what they're doing with Fichtner's sheriff character ... he knows more? He doesn't know more? He's lying to his wife about how much he knows? He's sincere? He makes a very interesting focal point.
As for being limited to cut-off community scenario, I don't think that will last very long. If you saw last week's episode, you know that [swipe for spoilers] the hybrids/replacements are getting armed and ready to attack. This "cut-off" town may be the launching point of an invasion that takes us throughout the world.

Invasion, like American Gothic, is a slow-burn show, but when it delivers answers, we really get answers,
I guess I can say that I like Lost more than Invasion, but Invasion delivers more satisfying answers than Lost. Like when we see what the Aliens do to people -- compare to finding out what Kate did (something we all expected anyway).

Surface's ep run got cut to 15 episodes. So um yeah I think things have to move a lil swiftly when you cut 7 eps out.

Invasion is a slow burn and although I do like the show (William Fichtner is especially good), I have to say I like Surface more. I think there is more stuff happening there. It reminds me a lot of Close Encounters of the Third Kind...but with water.
Also it has Lake Bell in it, so a big 'yay!' for that.

I'm like most of you and have been catching Invasion after Lost because...well, it's on after Lost. I must say I really don't have a clue what is going on, mostly because it's just one of those things I leave on in the background, but it does seem like a damn decent show. It is very slow...very methodical and paced. I get very tired of the awkward conversation pauses where people just stare at each other, or stare at the camera with shifty eyes, but aside from that I'm very interested in what is going to happen next.
Surface (which I'm watching right now) is very good and very insane. It's basically three plotlines happening at the same time and I'm actually pretty intrigued with it all. Maybe I just like how the kid is transforming into something and he has some freaky ass powers that (in this episode) are showing up pretty prevelantly. It's moving quickly, with a lot of coverups and a lot of secrecy, but I might have to tune back in more often.
(edit) Oh...and about Surface? Yeah...it just got effin' nuts.

The dude just found a god damned cryogenic Noah's Ark and a tidal wave is going to destroy the East coast. Yeah...I dig this show.
