Has this ever happened to anyone else?

If I hear a classic song that I like, I go on KaZaA and try to download a bunch of different bands all singing that same song; right now it's Sloop John B.

Hoist up the John B's sail,
See how the main sail sets,
Tell the captain ashore I want to go home.
I want to go home,
I want to go home,
I feel so broke up, I want to home.

Well I recently fell in love with The Smith's 'How Soon is Now?'. Then I remembered Tatu did a cover. Plus I found a good one by Snake River Conspiracy, who are a cool band in their own right i found and they also did a cover of 'lovesong' by The Cure. I love finding covers. Others that come to mind are a symphonic and chant versions of Stariway to Heaven. PLus a Tori Amos and a techno version (which said also Tori Amos but I doubt it) of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. Wow. The song actually had English lyrics you could understand. I thought they were written only in Cobainish.

California Dreaming is a song that has endless covers. It's almost rediculous.

Well...all the better to you then.

Back on the subject of Sloop John B, when they say "The first mate he got drunk, broke into the captain's bunk, the constabable had to come and take him away", does that mean he went into the captain's room for gay sex and was arrested for sodomy? In any case, this line is altered in most covers of the song.

TATU's cover is pretty good, for their genre of music, but I don't really like Snake River's cover very much... and their 'Lovesong' cover isn't that great either...

Man I'm sunburned. I put on the sunscreen but I forgot the back of my neck and my face. So I look like a tomato from the neck up. It sucks because the back of my neck hurts so much I don't feel comfy laying on my back. And I never feel comfy laying on my stomach...you know..nevermind.

There is this guy at my work who doesn't wear sun block and is in the sun all day for like 5 days a week. He looks like he's wearing sunglasses when he takes them off, get it? I always offer him some of my trusty SPF 70 sun block but he declines. I'm so worried he is going to get skin cancer! A friend of my parents and someone I like a lot died of skin cancer a while back.

WEAR YOUR SUN BLOCK PEOPLE! At least some times!

WonderWomanGoddess

Fortunatley, I am a recluse and rarely see sunlight.

But when I do, boy do I burn. I never ever tan one bit, never get any darker, I just burn, turn lobster red, then go right back to pale ass white.

But I do worry about skin cancer and so I try to be careful. I am also starting to worry about frown lines! All the older women I see with frown lines look bad, the ones with laugh lines look so much softer and prettier. I better start laughing more and scowling less.

Ladies and gentlemen of the class of 97:

Wear sunscreen.

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.

I love you Baz Luhrmann.

Speaking of staying inside and brooding (as well as hotties), I like Evanescence. I usually like to sit in the dark and brood to them. Plus Amy Lee is a hottie. Anyway, just wanted to say one thing I like about them is that their songs are rahter depressing and down, but there always seems to be a little glimmer of hope. PLus I now belive I definately ahve every song of theirs ever put on a CD, even rarer ones. I own both their Fallen and their ealier Origin. PLus I found copies of some demo disks online as mp3s.

To quote the song 'Mad World', "i find it kinda funny, i find it kinda sad, the dreams in which i'm dying are the best i've ever had."

Well, I have been more and more broody for a while. Likley the nail in the coffin was a recent break up, though mainly i jsut let things out more after that, so it's been in me for a while. Actually, Iw as broody before, now I just have the outfit and trenchcaot to go with it. Actually, this reminds me of another 'I'm back' topic..... hmmm... should I.... heh heh....
