View Full Version : Theme Day Idea: Same Actor, Different Costume

Why should the actors that bring our favorites heroes and heroines to life be limited to the single solitary costume they are given in the movies/on TV? Why can't Christopher Reeve be costumed as the Kandorian Nightwing? Why can't Ben Affleck be in the Daredevil Yellow costume? Why can't Kristen Kruek be dressed as Lana Lang's alter ego Insect Queen? The answer is: they can! And you can all make that possible! Go, go, go!

First off, how is this one (http://www.comics2film.com/DCG/DispArt.php3?f_id=11333&f_ssn=) the same actor in a different costume?

Secondly, so what? So there's a few already existing manips. Did people say no to the Second Rate Supervillains theme day because there were already second rate supervillains in the DCG? No. Did people say no to the X-Men theme day because people had already done X-Men pics? No. I don't see the big deal everyone's making here.

you caught me on that transgender one, wrong one sorry.

a few, that search was a mere sampling, and take it easy.

if you noticed i edited my comments, i had stated in there it's a good idea. i never really dig theme days though. don't forget we are the artists, if it doesn't interest us, then it's likely not to happen. i don't mean that to sound prickish, but if the artist isn't inspired by an idea or whatever it's usually a struggle (at least thats how i am). your obviously very knowledgeable in comics, why don't you try doing one of the ideas you mentioned and just submit it if this doesn't get picked up? it's obviously an idea you feel strongly about.

You're right people didn't say no to those theme days even though there were already photos like it.. maybe because some of those theme days were good ideas.

If you havn't noticed by now, it seems hardly anyone is interested in your theme day (so far) so why are you do you keep defending it like people will read it and change their mind and suddenly be inspired join? Please quit being so angry because people didn't like your idea as much as you'd like them to. People might like you a bit more if you weren't so touchy all the time.

How about this for a theme day: One actor, one character, two or more costumes in the same pic.

For example, Halle Berry (or whoever) as Storm in her original costume and her mohawk era duds in the same manip.

What do you think?

Hmm... like the same base pic manipped into two different costumes?

i likes the sound of that. Truth be told, me and Vampire_Spider were toying with that idea for the collaberation theme day before my computer problems and too many hours at work put that puppy to sleep.

Still, maybe

This's got my vote too. I like the same pic, two costumes idea.

It doesn't have to be the same pic, just the same actor.

Or it could be one pic with one costume on the left side and another on the right.

Or someone looking in a mirror and the mirror reflects another costume.

I didn't really understand you to mean that it had to be the same pic, I was just saying that I personally liked the idea of using the same base pic twice. I really think it should pretty much be up to the individual artist how specifically they want to do it.

How do we make a theme day officical? You know, with a date and title and all.

You need to

A: Check the Calender of Events (http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/Forum7/HTML/002127.html) thread for a free Thursday Night/Friday. This is because the display day for theme pics is usually a friday(means the pics are up all weekend then :P), so the last submission day is the thursday of the same week.

B: You then make a new post in to both the Calender and to the theme day thread(here) with the details for the theme. Most people tend to use the following format for the posts-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Theme Day: The Big New Theme Day
Prefix: *****BNTD:<Your Title>
Due: Thur ??????
For Display: Fri ???????
Details: A brief round up of what the theme day is about
Remember the ***** in the prefix to ensure your pic doesn't get lost in the queue.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And then sit back and wait for the day.. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif
