I've always held a fondness for collaberative efforts. My all time favorite collaberation is The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub.

Would anyone be interested in writing a collaberative short work to be posted on the site? Perhaps communication between PM's and in this thread as the story is developed. And the story could be handed off to the next in line after a certain point. I have no particular genre or story in mind, but would just like to see how we could potentially come together and create one ourselves, as a group.

Given the varying writing styles of a everyone who read and posts here, I do have an idea of how to make such a work flow consistantly.

Any takers?

Alrighty then folks.

KV and I have committed to making a go of it. We've been tossing around some ideas for the work and we want to make one more call for participants.

alvspr - never heard back from you mate. You in?

ahhh well I never really got a response to my question.

I'm a bit short on time is all.

Its at your leasure my man.

I want to keep the whole thing rather informal so there's no time tables or requirements. Whatever you can contribute, most of the time so far has been spend IM'ing over the past week tossing out ideas.

I sent you an IM or two but you never responded.:dunno:

Well I'd be happy to help, if my writing doesn't bring the whole project down lol.

I never received any IM's

what messenger service did you try to IM me on?

Kaeos

It was the internal one here at Cinescape - Private Messages

Tell me - why short on time?

alvspr

Well something is screwy because I have not received any private messages at all.

Just busy with life, work and other things.

If you've got any messenger services you can add me, might make things easier.

And if you want a taste of my writing style, have a look at my fan fic of Aliens Vs Predator.

Excellent. I'm PM'ing you and alvspr the discussion KingVoyeur and I have had so far and then we can get rolling.

:angry

The Private Message system on this board only allows up to 5000 characters per message. We'll need to be creative on communication.

As for the brainstorming so far, I'll have to pare down and edit what KingVoyeur and I have done so far to make it fit. I'll just put in the relevant stuff, so if it reads a little odd....sorry.:angry

Just get it started already.

Is this spontaneous group writing or controlled group writing.

If it's controlled as indicated above, that will have to be controlled through the group leader. A spontaneous group story(any new post from any user will be added to the overall story like the two word story in our Lounge) will have to be started on a seperate story thread.

We'll do most of the work outside of the thread - and we have begun work already.

Is this spontaneous group writing or controlled group writing

Yes:smirks:

We've been brainstorming via PM up until this point and we're bringing Kah and alvspr up to speed on the ideas brought forth so far.

Once the thing begins to take shape I'll post it in a new thread.

Chill bro. :D This isn't so formal as all that.

You want in?

If it's a good beginning, I might join.

Some years back on the old Xfiles board at the Cinescape mvp boards in the 90's, we did something similar.

For now, I'll be the sitting critic telling you buttheads to hurry the hell up and make this worth the wait.

If it's not good, you ppl are in trouble. :smirk:

PS: The Talisman rocked. So did its sequel.

I hadn't really intended to put anything out here in the forum as far as finished work until we have something more solid, so you may have a wait there haus.
