Just getting this started. Be back later when I've finished my English homework. By the way, you guys wouldn't happen to know anything about tragedy?

Look! A UIR from me... and not just because my work is up tonight, but because I actually *GASP* have time!

Imagine My: Blink - By Localhero: Overall, I like it! The only minor quibbles I have is that he looks like he's rubbing his head, or dancing, maybe... And, now I could be wrong on this, but doesn't Blink only have one "dagger" mark on her left cheek, and not on both? OTher than that, I like it. Spot on. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Shazam - By Kaz: Nice rendition of Captain Marvel, there.

Ajokalypse - By Sonic1002 : *shudder* Don't get me wrong, I love The Joker as much as anyone, and Apocalypse, when he had his own Age, was perhaps one of the better Marvel Villains (until he was over used), but that's... that's just CREEPY. Did you do this with a mouse? It looks good!

Teen Titans Manip Series - Superboy - By MilleniumBum: You're right, there's not much to do on Superboy's current costume... That being said, nice casting choice! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

I'll See You Tomorrow - By Cyberspice: I'm unsure about this one... You're trying for a sort of graveyard horror thing, I can see, but the effect is kind of plasticy. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/frown.gif

Goku Vs. Superman - By Darksaber: I like how you made their anatomies representative of their respective creators and styles. Very cool. I'll stay out of the debate, though, thanks. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Ultimates - Nick Fury - By Tokyo_Bastard: I like it. Simple, effective. Could use some design notes, other than it's obviously Samuel L. Jackson. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Mira Nova - By RuaTarvos: Despite the fact that I think people over use Ms. Hannigan, I like it. Do you think the skin tones could be smoothed out?

I have to split this one into two, darn it, because the server doesn't like me...

Part 2:

Batman: Intimidation - By joker21: Hm. R'as Al-Ghul. Could you have made his moustache look as though it was growing from more than just the sides of his chin? As it is now, it looks a little odd. And am I the only one who thinks the merging of the actors faces ends with a result that looks like John Travolta?

BtVS Manga - Willow - By Lady D: Neat! I missed the previous image, sadly. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/frown.gif Her shirt is cute, and she looks very, very charming. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Batman Dead End - By Craig: Ooh. I don't have much to say on this except I wish the text was more legible. Good otherwise, but can't read it! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/frown.gif

The Clock & Sidekicks - By Laserskater: I love your takes on these older, less known heroes. They're refreshing, what with all these new-fangled supermodels as manips and things. Shirley's head looks a wee bit small on the body, though. Dig Mickey Rooney and Humphrey Bogart. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Intimidation 2 - By trekkie: I like the mask. Bats' arm looks a little off... Is that a mannequin or figurine used as the base model? Interesting take on the batarang, but the arm just... I dunno. It's not setting right in my eyes, I'm afraid. Possibly because in comparison to the musculature on the rest of the body, the arm is so very thin. Someone that built up in the chest and shoulders would usually have thicker arms, in my experience.

My Work: I admit it, I cheated on the clouds and I don't like the way the turned out. I'll be looking into changing that before the final version. Other than that, I'm glad I go ta chance to do it.

Lara Croft - By Kevin Newburn: Beyond the fact that I still want to know how women who wear such pants keep them on (not that I'm complaining about them, at all), it's good! I'd like to see it shaded and colored.

10th Muse Trade Paperback 2 - By DavidJZM: I don't know much about this character, but the image is nice. Her skin looks a teeny bit plasticky, but I like the effects on her hands.

That's it for me. Bed time soon. Now off to finish Neverwhere before that... http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

Congrats to everyone, lots of nice work today.

Blink by localhero
I agree with Jem that it does kinda look like he's doing a dance, stil it's an awesome looking image My favorite of the day.

Shazam by Kaz
This is very nice, you did a great job making the image pop off the page with the inks.

Ajocalypse by Sonic1002
Ewww creepy and not in a good way, more like a my old neighbor sitting on his front porch in his underwear kinda way. Something about this just doesn't set right with me.

Superboy by MilleniumBum
Ack, I hate chris klein. Good lighting though.

I'll See You Tomorrow by cyberSpice
Holy crap on a stick its my old neighbor in his undies again. Gah! Halloween isn't till october ; )

GOKU vs SUPERMAN by darksaber
I like, nice job with the color, especially considering it was your first try. Very nice pose too. My favorite of the day!

Ultimates- Nick Fury by Tokyo_Bastard
Nice job, the background really fits with the character. I can't tell did you add facial hair to him or not?

Mira Nova by RuaTarvos
Nice work, I just wish you had a bigger picture to start with, I like what you started to do with her costume.

Batman: Intimidation by joker21
Again I agree with Jem, the two faces look like one. I'm just not sure its a good layout for a movie poster like this.

Willow by Lady D
very cute work, you did a good job with her eyes.

Batman: Dead End Movie Poster by Craig
This is a very nice layout for a movie poster. I like it a lot. Only problem with this one, is that the Joker really isn't the main villain in this "movie", so I think the poster is a bit misleading. Even so, my favorite of the day!

The Clock by Laserskater
Cool cool cool idea. I love these characters. Good casting too, I just have to agree with Jem (again) that their heads look a bit to small for their bodies. Still a very nice picture.

Intimidation II by trekkie
I think the two pics you chose are a bad choice for this kind of layout. both are looking straight ahead so there's no sense of Scarecrow actually looming over the dark night.

War Of The Worlds by jemstone
Nice coloring, I really like whatever effect you used for the background, I wouldn't change it. The only thing I might think about tweeking is the color of the ground (or the mist that is surrounding the people), it's seems to similar to the peoples faces. Kinda makes them all blend in together. Still those are minor complaints, my favorite of the day!

lara croft by me
Jem, she has a belt on... that's what's holding up her pants ; )

10th Muse by DavidJZM
looks very very nice, only one complaint. the image on a whole has a very cut out feel too it, The outer edges of her hair and her shirt seem too abrupt. Her arms in contrast look really nice, but the rest of her seems off.

Thanks for the comments.. but funnily enough I thought the idea of the "Imagine My.." theme day was to do MY take on the character.. I prefer balanced facial markings. I didn't get the dancing myself.. I thought the pose said "looking for the next sentinel in order to hand it it's @ss in bits"...

Anyways Some nice pics today, I'm a bit miffed that no-one else seems to have taken the challenge of this theme day though... ah well..

Ultimates- Nick Fury by Tokyo_Bastard: I think the background actually is too distracting. The pic is cut from a Shaft promo pic. Looks like you removed some of the facial hair. The eyepatch is nice, but how is it staying in place? Superglue? Also the scarring is a little indistinct.

I will try and do some more comments for others over the weekend.

Jem,
Actually, I made the credits on the poster blurry on purpose because I lifted them from a movie poster for the film "Chaplin." I just wanted an impression of lettering at the bottom of the poster, but since I was using lettering from a real poster, I didn't want them to be readable. Upon reflection, it does detract from the overall image a bit.

Thanks to all for the kind words. Nice work from everyone in the DCG on this round!

Gotta run!

Blink by localhero
Cool pic, just that the color scheme is a bit weird… his shirt is too green while everything else seems to have a blue tint to it. I like it though, it’s cool the way the background is shaping to his powers and I like the shirt and darts. Where did u get those sentinels from? I think the powers could also have been played with a bit more, from what I’ve seen of your work.

Shazam by Kaz
Good anatomy, nice pose, it works. His kneecaps are too prominent for the rest of the piece. Show something with a background and multiple characters in action. I’m curious to see how you’d fare.

Ajocalypse by Sonic1002
Niiice, I like it, you did this in MS Paint?

Superboy by MilleniumBum
This is cool, just that I hate his expression/him…

I'll See You Tomorrow by cyberSpice
No idea what this is all about, but I like it, it’s cool. Sorry to hear about your Spice Girls fanaticism. Hope you can get the proper medical attention. LOL, that pic is just freaky, I love it

GOKU vs SUPERMAN by darksaber
Love it, except for the textures on the rock/planet (only because they should conform more to the shape, but I know that’s really hard to do) Very, very nice. Oh, and the background in space should probably be less saturated, especially the pink on the right.

Ultimates- Nick Fury by Tokyo_Bastard
I dunno what to say.. what exactly did u do..? add an eye patch and color it red..?

Mira Nova by RuaTarvos
Pretty much a re-coloring job, right? It looks good, just a wee bit too saturated in some parts, I think (such as her skin color)

Batman: Intimidation by joker21
This is pretty… bland.. there’s not much to it.

Willow by Lady D
This is cuute! Only thing I can say is her wrinkles on her skirt look funny. I like it tho

Batman: Dead End Movie Poster by Craig
Except for the rugged text edges, this is really cool. Good job, it works nicely.

The Clock by Laserskater
Nice pic, looks good. I think the lady’s head might be a bit too small.

Intimidation II by trekkie
It’s pretty bland and dull as a movie poster/teaser thing. I do like your characters though, they both look really good. Batman’s belt is way too saturated, much too yellow; your eyes automatically drift to it, first. Love Batman’s look

War Of The Worlds by jemstone
I dunno about that red ‘clouds filter’ in the background… I think a more unified color scheme would have given it more unity, and tied things in together more. I also think the blue monster thing should have some yellow light reflected on him, instead of blue. How did it look with pencils?

lara croft by Kevin newborn
Something’s weird about her ass… there seems to be a chunk of it missing, as if her pelvis is halfway cut off. It should be longer. Her profile, on her face, seems… off, somehow. Her eyes seem too far back, her chin too forward, and not enough of a skull. I like the line work though, and overall, I think it’s a nice drawing. Nice work on the gun, hair, braid, pants, belt.. her legs also might be a bit too skinny as compared to her arm.

10th Muse by DavidJZM
Crap image, I can tell you didn’t spend a lot of time on this, nor took it too seriously. What a loser.

I pretty much copied the original pencil colors over to the digital scheme, after spending hours and hours sampling each color individually from the pencils to make sure I kept it as close as possible. Like I said, I cheated on the clouds filter, I don't like it, and will be changing it. (I feel so cheap)

Ack you found me out, her face is really off, when I transfered this from the original picture (which I massacred with an attempted inking) with my lightbox, I think the page slipped and her face did not come out right. The eye placement is slightly off and her head isn't long enough from back to forehead, after I scanned it I really noticed it, but at that point I was finished so you know...whatever...

as for her pelvis, it is longer, at least I think longer then you think, it starts way up above her belt. I didn't do a good job with the lines to make it stand out more

Except for the profile of Lara's face, I really don't see anything wrong. She may be a little petite, but I chalk that up to artistic interpretation. As far as body types go, the drawing looks like Jolene Blaylock to me.

hi. i don't really see anything wrong with all those other things on Lara. But she really needs more cranium. I think giving her a proper skull will fix any face issues.
