View Full Version : Theme day suggestion: Marvel characters costume trade
Well, I posted this on an Avengers message board, but then I got thinking that this sort of thing could work in the DCG as a theme day. If the women of Marvel (or men i suppose) decided to trade costumes for a day (or an issue), who would you like to see exchanging costumes with another character? - eg, Mockingbird in Tigra's outfit, or She-Hulk in Scarlet Witch's outfit (or Wasp's outfit), or Ms Marvel in Elektra's outfit etc.
Any ideas? I guess the pictures would still have to look like the original character, just that they are wearing a different costume.

That's an interesting one, Welshcat.
Thinking about it, though, save for the original X-men, the costumes that the character wore typically defined their "essence" if you will. Captain America was Captain America because of his shield and his red, white, and blue uniform. Iron Man is Iron Man because of the armor. The same applies to Daredevil, SpiderMan, and quite possibly every major Marvel character except The Punisher (and even that can be argued, really, although I don't see what a spandex suit with a skull on it does to define a character, really).
Now, all that said, I'd love to see Kitty Pryde in Electra's get up. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

I was thinking more along the lines that the character could keep their mask or some other props, but wear someone else's costume - eg Captain America keeps his mask and shield but wears a Punisher outfit. But hey, i wasn't really even thinking of the guys since you mention them - i just thought it might be cool to see someone like Elektra (keeping her red hat for instance) and wearing say, Moondragon's outfit... or Witchblade's if she felt daring. Or Tigra, say, in Vampirella's outfit. Just no-one think of cross-dressing here!
