Getting Started

I'd like to make some manips of my own, but don't want to shell out the big bucks for Photoshop right away. Are there any other programs that are less expensive and good for beginners?

http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/Forum7/HTML/002776.html This thread may help. Me, I use the downloaded trial version of PSP (Paint Shop Pro) with a few "modifications." I also use the ever *fill in with ajective of you choice* Paint. Hope that helps.

You beat me too it I was just about to hit submit on my post to this pretty much identical and you beat me, CURSE YOU TREKKIE *shakes fists frantically in the air* :P I watch way to much Conan, speaking which todays headline "Conan grabs booty"

I think most graphic tablets come with free programs you can use to do photomanipulations and digital artwork in case you ever want to buy one.
