ParkVengers #1: Big Cat Diaries
by localhero
I don’t get it, but it looks good.
Henry Cavill as Superman V2
by sithgoblin
I think the biggest problem here is that huge shadow on Superman. It conflicts with the shadows that already exist in the picture of Cavill and the base image for Superman’s body. Also, his belt needs to smoothed out around the edges.
Utena & Anthy
by Uzume
Wow, this is really nice work. My only complaint would be that Utena’s fingers look strange. Again, nice work.
BATMAN Intimidation
by KAZ
Normally I don’t like to see Alex Ross’ work being used in photomanipulations but I’ll make an acception this time. This is very well done and everything looks so natural blended together. BTW, you should always put the name of an artist in your art notes when using an illustration for your base image. Not only is it the considerate thing to do, but I believe it is also part of the guidelines for uploading artwork to the DCG.
The L.O.S.E.R.s
by bearbot
Nice concept bearbot. Good job on the manips too. I do have a problem with Eyeful Ethel though. Her head is disproportionately large compared to her body. And the cave wall is bit out of focus considering its directly behind the characters. Other than those things I just mentioned I think this is a good image.
DC folks
by Marrow2000
Good lord, you’ve been busy haven’t you! Maybe you can have a talk with that bum Essex http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif. This is really beautiful work, especially Wonder Woman. You did a fantastic job on her and the glow from WW’s magic lasso. And I‘m sure this was time consuming considering how clean everything looks. But I’m not too sure I like that Superman pose. It kind of makes me wish Batman had hit him a little more with his Kryptonite ring. But seriously, great job on this. Oh, and I know what you meant in your art notes about “with simplicity, light, colors”. Sometimes its easy to forget that some well placed shadows and highlights can make all the difference in the world when trying to create realism in art.
Justice League
by OhmanArt
Wow! You guys are blowing me away today. These are great portraits, very detailed work for colored pencils.
The Crow
by xpunkx1983
Not the best thing I’ve seen drawn in MS Paint, but I have seen worse. Unless you enjoy using that program I suggest you get a scanner or find a friend that has one. Or, you could do what I used to do years before I got a scanner and take pictures of your drawings with a digital camera.
Nice pose, who's gonna pay for the wall though?
by Kombat Wombat
Well, honestly I think you went too dark. Superman looks kinda dirty to me. The look doesn’t match the “stiff as a board” pose IMO. Good job on the background work and I applaud the use of shadow even though I think it was overdone a little.
Laura as Phoenix
by rockajimmy
The only comment I can muster up about this image is that I think the model has a very nice rack.
Underworld colored
by csyeung
Damn, that’s just jaw-droppingly good.
Punisher: the movie
by Digital Rivers
The make up on his face is a little heavy. He almost looks like a generic Looney Tunes thug. Overall, you did a nice job.
AOA: Sunfire
by kev_incal
I’ve never seen the age of apocalypse version of Sunfire before so I have no idea how accurate the costume is, so all I can say is I like this a lot.
Stark Image
by marcushislop
Nice work.
wargirl
by jjmarreiro
Good drawing jj.
Gambit
by Facelessman
That’s cute.

You probably need to be a reader of (or at least be aware of of whats happening in) Avengers at the moment. Let's just say there was a little rivalry and distrust behing exhibited.. particularly between IM & BP.. see my ParkVengers #-1 (http://www.comics2film.com/DCG/DispArt.php3?f_id=13188&f_ssn=) for an earlier indication if this http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif

Holy Crap! Marrow2000's DC Folks (WW, specifically) is the best thing I've ever seen here. The lasso actually looks magical, which is awesome. What's cooler is that she actually looks like an islander instead of just another white chick.
Truly outstanding work.
All the best,

uir
parkvengers: funny.
superman: still have issues with the shading, belt, hands, s logo, etc...i would've forgone the previous image and just submitted this one.
utena and anthy: very well done. i like the whole thing. the colrs are a little dark so it's hard to make out the definition and details.
batman intimidation: nice joh on the cut and paste, it's well done. good work on the light sourcing....for the shadow, just copy the figure, make it black, add a subtle gaussian blur, and use the distort transformation tool to lay it down...the shadow would look more convincing.
losers: i like infectious lass, very colorful. very inventive characters and nice concept. maybe on arm fall off boy use the liquify tool to bulge the texture to match up with the muscles.
marrow: if this is your last piece for a while, what a way to go out. obviously wonder woman is the stand out....she is lit up and very recognizable...the lighting on here is superb. beautiful flesh tones on her...just beautiful. supes and batman are nice, but honestly the eye is drawn toward wonder woman. great work as always.
justice league: wow. just beautiful...no complaints.
the crow: i have to admire any paint work...well done.
nice pose: nice compilation of pieces. i gotta find those kingdom come figures...they would make a great present for my brother. nice work, maybe some smoke from the wall getting broken down?
laura: okay is an overstatement. i know your just starting out, but just a few little things can really help this out. clean up the edges around her body, it's not hard, zoom in if you have too, it will really help your images in the future just to get this process into your workflow. start with that and we will go from there.
underworld: if you just type delete in the subject of your image the powers that be will take care of it for you. nice colors...the lighting is well done on the legs, really makes them pop at you. nice job of creating textures.
punisher: just saw the new pic of him as frank castle...and it's looking better. i'm not expecting much from the movie just so that i dont get all over excited about it and get let down. lighting seems off....yeah his face is lit up, but the body is not grabbing any light.
sunfire: not familiar with this story arc, but i love this look. this is solid work... i like the details...fire is well done as is the smoke. no complaints.
iron man: looks cool. i like the way you made the gold and red avenger really pop with the lighting.
wargirl: looks good to me. she looks like she has some rage issues. nice details.
gambit: nice anime/cartoony look to gambit...i would like to see a little power signature to see how you handle that. nice work.

Er...I've been working hard on some pics...honest....um....I can't lie to you, D.K....I've barely worked on my latest pic in a month! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/eek.gif
Anyway, got a few minutes so I'll do a short UIR of some selected pics.
Parkvengers: This is solid work, but honestly, the concept has grown old quickly. The art is cute and well done, but they're not exceptionally funny. I'd come for the art, and stay for the comedy, like in Kwick's work. Still, nicely done.
Batman Intimidation: I'm not a fan of using Alex Ross paintings in manips, but I'll admit you did a good job pasting Bale's face onto the pic. It's not the typical 'cut & paste' job and actually used some manipping, so for that at least, I commend you.
DC Folks: This is a great pic, no doubt. Wonder Woman looks great, especially. However, and I mean no offense by this, Batman looks awful. The essense of the character is to look intimidating even while in the shadows. In this case, he looks sad and actually quite feminine. His jaw and brow look so elegant and smooth. Aside from that, great pic, though not one of my favourites from you.
Sunfire: Very nice pic of a rarely seen character in the DCG. The lighting is fantastic in this pic, but what I actually like best is the paint-like background and how the other colours work on top of it. That is great. I think the darker elements in his "costume" need some depth really badly, though.
Stark Image: Great painting, but I think using the Bowen statue as a model was a bad idea. Not only is it a very common image on the net, but that particular composition of the foreground figure was not best for the image. Still, very cool.
That's all I've got in me http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

b] ParkVengers #1: Big Cat Diaries
by localhero [/b] Really cute, I like both of these that you did.
Henry Cavill as Superman V2
by sithgoblin Why the big black shadow over him? His symbol is too dark compared to the rest. Some nice work, otherwise.
Utena & Anthy
by Uzume Me gusta mucho! Good job on it.
BATMAN Intimidation
by KAZ So... u took the bottom half of Bale's face and put it on an Alex Ross painting? Looks flawless, but doesn't sound like u really changed it a lot. Good editing, though.
DC folks
by Marrow2000 What's that sucking sound..? Oh it's you.
Justice League
by OhmanArt Love it, love it. Only problem seems to be the scan job; kinda low-quality. The art itself rocks, though.
The Crow
by xpunkx1983 Cute... MSPaint is a bitch to use. I started out in it.
Nice pose, who's gonna pay for the wall though?
by Kombat Wombat Kind of... mushy? Some parts are too clear, while others are too... brush-y, I'd say.
Laura as Phoenix
by rockajimmy Seems like all u did was add flames in the back and the symbol on her chest. I'd like to see you take it a step further.
Underworld colored
by csyeung The leather/outfit is awesome, as is the background. Judging from that, her face seems to simple.
Punisher: the movie
by Digital Rivers Hey, pretty sweet pic here. kinda boring pose, but nice work.
AOA: Sunfire
by kev_incal Oh Kev, this is not 10, I'm guessing this took 20s and 30s to complete! It looks great, I don't see anything to critique on it... only things I can think of would make it more in my style, and not yours, and that's not good cuz urs is nice already. Great job on it!
Stark Image
by marcushislop Cool job on this one.
wargirl
by jjmarreiro I like, but hard to see. YOu could play with the Levels in Photoshop to make the linework darker.
Gambit
by Facelessman haha, that's cute

Thanks, that will help a lot since you know Batman so well. He was a bitch for me to pull off. I will look into it, thanks a bunch Adam

I really hope you do more Batman in the future. We've been getting a lot of diversity from you, which has been great. We all know you can do majestic characters like Wonder Woman very well, but it's great to see you take a stab at darker ones like Daredevil and Batman. Can't wait to see more. God knows I haven't been filling the gallery with any dark pics.....

I changed it a little more than u might think, For the life of me bales face would not fit the Alex Ross Batman pic since the Ross pic was looking up, So i had to use a picture of Adam West as batman for the head and it was a pain to get the cape right but im glad u liked it though...

I don't have enough time for a full UIR but I did have to pop in and give props to Marrow for his piece. Yes, I know, everyone already has but I have to add my two cents....
I love it, you knew I would, Wonder Woman is flawless. I wish the lasso looked like that in the comics, or even on just on the covers! And I love her body- statuesque and proportional, rather than the stick thin with big boobs look. Your friend had a beautiful and regal bearing and you've immortalized her...
I also like Superman, something about his face, the features, well I really dig it, and actually, although I see what Adam is saying about Batman, I like the sadness. If you could find a way to add that 'edge' and hardness to him, but still keep that sadness underneath, that'd be perfect. What makes Bats so sexy to me is that vunerable sad little boy under the fearsome cowl. Same deal with Wolverine- the vunerabilty under the ferocity.
Overall, I think each one does well togehter- WonderWoman is regal and majestic, Superman is a quintessetnial powerhouse boy scout with the latern jaw, and Batman seems fluid and shadowlike.
I really like it David, it's my new desktop http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif
