I really don't know how many of you know this, but by the discriptions in the art picca I've seen, not many.. But anyway.. Mystique is not Rogue's mother.. She adopted Rogue when she frist found out she had powers and tried to get her to join the Brotherhood of Mutants.. She was ADOPTED... Not biological..

Sorry.. It just was bothering me.

Thanks for letting those that don't know, know.

At one point in the current Marvel Comics timeline, it was revealed that the woman Rogue had been raised by, the woman she called "Momma," was, in fact, Mystique, and that Mystique's "adoption" of Rogue was in fact simply Mystique stepping back in to pick up where she'd left off when Rogue ran off.

Which then threw the entire idea of her adoption up into the air, making her origins no longer cut and dried and just as whacked out as Wolverine's.

*sigh*

I don't recall that, when did this happen? http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/confused.gif

At any rate, I don't see why you felt obliged to point this out, summersgirl. Do you expect everybody to consistently write "foster mother" each time they refer to Mystique? She's certainly the only mother of Rogue's we're familiar with so leaving out the word "biological" before "mother" every time makes perfect sense...This just seems like a totally pointless thing to say...

Sometime after the Age Of Apocalypse and before the current re-explosion of X-titles, if I remember correctly.

Then again, do please remember this IS Marvel we're talking about, here, where the word "continuity" doesn't exist, but Wolverine can be in seven different locations simultaneously, interacting with seven different villains, all of whom are also in seven different locations of their own, off in their own books.

But perhaps I expect too much. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif

Why do I? 'Caz I'm sick and tired of seeing piccas of Mystique and Rogue and people saying "Oh mother and daughter." It states VERY planly that their not related!!! For Mystique lovers like me it's a major piss off!!!

They aren't related at all.. Her parents sent her away after they found her powers.. Mystique shifted forms and adopted her. It's in the first comic that she's ever in as a child.

Now that we are all clear on Mystique and Rogue's relationship, I'm closing this thread.
