View Full Version : Were UIR left out of today's update? 16/3/04
I thought there might be server problems. I could've sworn I saw that cat picture on the front page, and Big Barda at one point.
Oh well, a review later on.

The update was early today!
Big Barda by Junkyard- I like this one pretty well. It's not as good as some of the ones I've submitted recently, but it's a move in the right direction.
Ratchet by DAVID GUIVANT- Nice.
Guido Anchovy by wolfsfang- Cute!
Moonlight Ninja by jjnash77- Cool. Don't know who this guy is, but cool.
Captain America by Vagabond1972- Nice pose. Good colors.
Hello Kitty by cyberphoenix- Like you said, not much to it, but good.
Birds Of Prey #59 Cover Manip by gnetsurpher- You know, it's not perfect, but those are some tough costumes, and that was a darn good try.
Doop! by Sticks- AAAARRRRGGGG!!!! Uh... Nice. Just... don't let it touch me.
Transit -nightcrawler And Amanda Sefton's Son. by Shaylinn- Cool. Elegant.
Teentitans Go! by bearbot- Wow. Nice.
Spider-man/peter Parker by spidersman1208- Cool drawing. Modern take on an old style.
Challenged By Dperceful by MysticMorgan- Weird, but cool.

OMG, DOOP meatball?!?! That's rocks so hard Sticks! I'm tiling that on my home computer desktop when I get home. I've always wanted to make a Doop toy but now I think Marvel Legends is making a Deadpool and Doop action figure set. I'm trying to see how hard it would be to sew a Doop stuffed plush. I'll keep you abreast of my progress http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif
Really early update today... But I still only get to it at the usual time. Go fig. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/wink.gif
Big Barda by Junkyard
Not bad. Pretty decent Frankensteining. Some of the edges are a bit iffy, like around the helmet and gauntlet. Another thing about the helmet... the angle is slightly off... it's facing exactly at the camera, whereas her head is at an angle... looks weird.
Ratchet by DAVID GUIVANT
As for every other piece in this series, this is great work but it's still basically an ad for a series I've never been much of a fan of.
Guido Anchovy by wolfsfang
A full-body shot would be nice. So would some art notes! Good work here, nice job on the costume. The face is rather blurry.
Moonlight Ninja by jjnash77
Very nice pic... good drawing, good colours. Nice tree trunk. it's a shame he has six fingers.
Captain America by Vagabond1972
Very nice drawing, nice colours, good work. Nothing wrong with it to my eye. That said, it'd be nice to see some more shading in the colours... rather than just one flat shade of blue, red, etc. This pic works fine as is, that's just something you could maybe try to work on in the future.
Hello Kitty by cyberphoenix
Not bad. Nice background. The mask's really flat though, it needs some highlights... and the screen right edge is rather messy. The lens flares are overkill IMO, just too many of them.
Birds Of Prey #59 Cover Manip by gnetsurpher
Good job. Nice costuming, some good wrinkles and seams... nice textures too. The airbrushed look of the costumes kinda clashes with the more photorealistic faces though... plus Huntress' skin tones don't quite match, while Oracle's face is notably blurrier than the rest of her... especially her hair. It's still a good piece overall though.
Doop! by Sticks
Hey, Doop! Excellent, Doop's always welcome. Very nice texture for his skin. The eyes don't really work though. Not your best overall, maybe, but not bad.
Transit -nightcrawler And Amanda Sefton's Son. by Shaylinn
Good work as always. Nice work on the hands and on the costume. I like the bamf effect. In fact, I really like the bamf effect.
Teentitans Go! by bearbot
Very nice! I like the whole cartoony look. Nicely coloured and shaded too. And all done in Photoshop! Good work. Only nit: Raven's anatomy is rather weird... her legs and torso are facing in totally different directions... rather unrealistic.
Spider-man/peter Parker by spidersman1208
Cool drawing... very cool, in fact. Nice work on the costume. Pete's face looks distinctly elongated... At least partly cause the distance between his nose and mouth is too much.
Challenged By Dperceful by MysticMorgan
Kinda weird but very nice. I like the inked look, tres cool -- I'll have to steal it at some point. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif Good work on Crystar and Moltar (uh... whoever they are.) I like the subtle transparency on the former. Cool cartoon critters too, and Liberty Meadows looks great. Looking forward to the Ting ting. It's nice to get a challenge accepted, LOL. And I'm impressed you got this one out so quickly... mine're stalled and not even started, respectively. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/tongue.gif I got sidetracked by the Original Concept Swap thing. Though with that nearing completion, maybe I can get back to being challenged. Anyway, I digress... Favourite pic of the day, lest I forget.

I don't want to split hairs, but I made sure to get a face pointing straight- it's the neck that's tilted odd.
By the way, the two tools I have are paint and Picture It. I've used almost exclusively Paint up to this picture. After this one, (save for a couple more Care Bears pics) I belive you'll see a lot more Picture It, and thus, better edges. Heck, I even use some shading later on!

Oh. Well, the point stands, really. It looks odd. Definitely looking forward to what you do with your new software!

It's been more than a day sinse anyone has posted in this part of the boards.
Hope nobody's died or anything.
(This statement will be considered really insensitive if it turns out someone DID die.)

no time for a full uir. just want to hand out the respect to mystic morgan. what a way to accept a challenge. these are very obscure characters (at least crystar and moltar are). you handled them very well and really turned out a stand out piece.
