Hypocrite.

Well, since all of the other religions are actually lies created by Xenu to confuse the Thetans, it's okay to make fun of them.
So,, I'm betting that in their twilight years, either Travolta or Cruise is going to be lauded as the reincarnation of Hubbard, nevermind that they were both alive when he was...

NEW YORK - "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker vowed vengeance last week in their running battle with Scientology - and Wednesday night's new-season premiere appears to be the start.
Isaac Hayes may have left the animated satire in a huff over what he described as religious "intolerance and bigotry," but his Chef character, which he's voiced since 1997, isn't forgotten.
The Comedy Central cartoon begins its 10th season with an episode titled "The Return of Chef!" The character's return follows by just a few days Hayes' statement that he was quitting because he could no longer accept the show's satirical blasts at religion.
Stone and Parker quickly shot back that Hayes had no problem poking fun at religions until "South Park" took on Scientology in an episode last fall. Hayes is a Scientologist.
Hayes didn't return to voice the new episode, but there's widespread speculation that the mischievous Stone and Parker used creative editing of his voicing from past shows to fashion new dialogue.
Comedy Central on Tuesday began running promos of the episode that featured what appeared to be Hayes' voice.
According to the show's synopsis: "The town is jolted out of a case of the doldrums when Chef suddenly reappears. While Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman are thrilled to have their old friend back, they notice that something about Chef seems different. When Chef's strange behavior starts getting him in trouble, the boys pull out all the stops to save him."
The show's feud with Scientology heated up further last week when, a couple of days after Hayes' blast, a scheduled rerun of an episode skewering Scientology, and famous follower Tom Cruise, was pulled without notice. A blogger site reported that Cruise had used his clout to force the episode's removal, a charge Cruise's representative denied. The next day Parker and Stone issued a statement promising more to come.
Wednesday's show is the first of seven new "South Park" episodes.
I can't wait to see what Wed episode will be like.:smirks:

Oh.....my......god......TOO DAMN FUNNY!!!!!
That was brilliant use of edited dialogue for Chef, they intentionally made it noticeable. The "death" scene was fantastic. I hope Darth Chef sticks around. Maybe as a villain for the whole season (or until Matt and Trey get tired of it)?

Maybe they'll do a super villain episode in the style of the old "Justice Friends" with Darth Chef, Mecha Streisand and Saddam Hussein.

That was funny as hel* Matt and Trey are comic genius's. When they killed off chef i was waiting to hear Kyle say oh my god they killed chef, but it never came neither did kenny die. Making the voice edited and making it noticable was the best part, but the cafeteria chef saga ends and darth chef era begins.

Tonight's new episode? Where the two boys go to LA to try to get a Family Guy episode pulled because it was going after a large religion? The people with their heads in the sand? All the veiled Tom Cruise/Isaac Hayes references?
BRILLIANT!
Jesus Christ, this show is smarter and more ruthless than ever this year. Hope that Comedy Central doesn't "pull" part two. :D

LMAO Knowing those two Southpark Nutty Creators, there never was a part 2 and that ending was their last laugh. They've done that a couple of times before too.
Totally agree. Tonights episode was brilliant. I loved the whole "bury our heads in the sand" bit, especially the Dawn of the Dead reference where two ppl go at it..."Im sorry....you have to understand, Im all shes got"....."Who the hell are they???!?"
Can anyone fill me in on what movie or show was being spoofed in the scene where he was chasing Cartman on the way to LA on the highway? Couldn't place the scene like I could watching Jimmy and Timmy fight their monster battle(They Live spoof) a couple of seasons back but it seemed really familiar.
Also, I got the feeling one of the two Southpark creating buttmonkeys likes Family Guy while the other buttmonkey doesnt like it. Everytime someone said it sucked...there was someone saying it rocked!
And of course...the onslaught of humility towards religious humor is a factoring key in this seasons writing. Those boys keep on going at it and I'm sure we'll see much much more of it.
Won't be surprised if there never was a part 2 but I cannot wait till next week either way. :D

I doubt it. I think the "sucked" "rocked" sentiment comes from the fact that a majority of people love Family Guy and that they try to compare that to the Simpsons or South Park. The Simpsons, South Park, and even Beavis and Butthead are original ideas that influenced a lot of Family Guy and Matt and Trey along with numerous other people are sick and tired of having Family Guy be spoken in the same breath as their shows.
It's Wikipedia, so grains of salt are passed out at the door. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Family_Guy)
There is so much blatant plagarism in Family Guy that even Matt Groening drew one of the simpsons looking it up in a dictionary and seeing Peter's image underneath the definition.
Not to mention that Stewie is a damn near carbon copy of a comic called Jimmy Corrigan: The smartest kid on the planet.

I loved last nights episode. I hope to hell they show part 2, I liked the end where they refrenced their own station saying (not exactly sure of the wording but...) "Or will comedy central pansy out". Something like that. During that episode i was laughing almost the entire time. This season they arent taking any prisnors, This whole season has been a laugh riot, I also enjoyed last weeks episode, the hybrids, where san fransico people where smelling their farts. How much funnier can you get?

South Park is in syndication as well. Matt and Trey are just tired of people comparing South Park to Family Guy. The shows are on two different levels. Famliy Guy is funny but it has and never will do the things South Park has done. That goes for the Simpsons as well. Famliy Guy will never be The Simpsons no matter how hard they try.
I like to get high and watch Family Guy just like the next guy, I just think Seth MacFarlane sold his soul to the Devil then licked his balls to get Family Guy where it is today.

South Park is one of my favorite shows and one of the best shows on tv (Hell it won the f**king peabody award!!! LOL) Great show with great stories. Saying that I also love family guy for multiple reasons one being its funny as hell, but also that it takes place in Rhode Island :D And yes i did enjoy watching south park spoof family guy, because i think family guy will come back to spoof south park. As for the simpsons and thier movie, they need not to make it, the show has been on a major decline for awhile now, but still funny even though its not origenal anymore.

He had too that show got cancelled and brought back a thousand times.
I think that The first season of Family guy might be one of the funniest shows ever. South Park may have about 30 eps just as funny throughout its 10 season(?) run. Now I think both shows pretty much blow. I've moved on to Aqua Team and Boondocks.

It's hard to a Favorite which is better Family Guy or South Park, But I do feel that the last episode of South Park could start a small war between the two. Both are funny in there own way.
and by the way NEW Venture Brothers start on June 25
I enjoyed "Family Guy" but the criticisms in that episode of "South Park" are dead on. Since watching that, "Family Guy" isn't as funny to me anymore.

Unless that you get that the random asides are part of the joke. Unfortunately, Trey and Matt forgot what was funny about 5 years ago. Now they just go for thinly veiled statements that retain barely any humor, and the humor that is there is often mean-spirited.
With Family Guy, I look forward to new episodes. With South Park, if I miss a season or two it's not like I've really missed anything.
Yeah, the asides are what I'm talking about. Saw an episode recently on Adult Swim or TBS where Peter fought a giant chicken for five minutes. It had nothing to do with the plot, and went on twice as long as it should have.
As for "South Park", I'm a mean, spiteful human being myself. :D

Yup.
The chicken fight isn't supposed to make sense. It's absurdist comedy without resorting to fart jokes.
Unfortunately, South Park hasn't moved beyond the gross-out jokes or the making fun of jokes.
It's kinda like listen to Howard Stern say "Show me your tits." to every single one of his female guests. It gets repetitive and boring.
Unless you're into that whole repetitive and boring sort of thing.

I have to admit, I like SP's up-to-the-minute immediatecy and don't-give-a-flying-fuck attitude, but FG just makes me laugh more. I love the absurdist asides. Like how Peter didn't have gas until he was 23. I also think that's why I like RC. Some of the gags are like 5 seconds and they crack me up.
I wonder if Seth McFarlane will fire back at M&T?

Easy, big guy. :D
I don't really care too much about either show, but once someone introduced me to the thought of, "'Family Guy' fills their show with jokes not related to the plot because they can't write," it stays there. I see jokes that don't fit, and though I may laugh, I then think to myself, "Maybe they couldn't write a plot joke here, so they used filler." That takes away from my enjoyment.
As far as Howard Stern goes, I don't think you can ever see too many boobies. That's a theory I would love to work on, personally. :eyebrow:

Boobies rule. But the funniest episode of SP ever was the one where they were trying to send the killer whale to the moon. I swear, I only stopped laughing during the commercials. From the Poopshoot:
There was something missing in Wednesday night's South Park, as a title card explained: "Comedy Central has refused to broadcast an image of Mohammed on their network."
It was not a joke.
The scene depicting the Islamic prophet handing a football helmet to a character from Family Guy (at least that's how another of the show's title cards put it) really was nixed by Comedy Central.
A source close to the show said safety concerns were behind the move. Earlier this year, Danish newspapers published cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed, sparking deadly riots throughout many Muslim nations. Any rendering of the prophet, even a positive one, is considered blasphemous by Muslims.
"In light of recent events, we feel we made the right decision," Comedy Central said in a statement Thursday.
There was no public response from series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
Wednesday's South Park, "Cartoon Wars, Part 2," was the concluding half of a story arc in which Family Guy, yes, the Fox animated series, causes international consternation when, in a familiar-sounding turn of events, it depicts Mohammed. (The story line is better understood if one accepts that, as The South Park Scriptorium explained, "Family Guy=South Park.")
In the South Park version of things, Family Guy makes it to air with the controversial scene, prompting an animated response (literally) from al Qaeda involving Jesus,
President Bush, the U.S. flag and bowel movements.
In an interview with the Associated Press, William Donohue of the conservative Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights attacked Parker and Stone, but not Comedy Central, for the Jesus bit making air. Of the show's creators, Donohue said, "[They're] like little whores...They'll sit there and they'll whine and they'll take their shot at Jesus."
South Park has been winning friends of late with its religious-themed episodes. Last year, Comedy Central ran, but later declined to rerun the episode "Bloody Mary" after Donohue's group took umbrage with a menstruating statue of the Virgin Mary. Last month,
Isaac Hayes turned in his Chef's hat, saying the show's satire had gone too far. His departure was seen as a belated response to "Trapped in the Closet," a 2005 episode that focused on Scientology, Hayes' religion. Comedy Central pulled a rerun of that episode, too.
An avowed equal opportunity offender, South Park previously depicted Mohammed to little public outcry. In that case, timing might have been everything. The episode, "Super Best Friends," debuted in July 2001, or two months before the arrival of the post-9-11 world.
Well, I guess in the end Family Guy was just a small part of Cartoon Wars. SOUTHPARK this season so far has been one of the best in a while. William Donohue is a dumb fuk IMO. The bit with Jesus and Bush to me was just another example of the double standard CC is showing here. I think that was the point of it. I had forgotten about the "Super Best Friends" episode. I wonder if they will show another episode with the Super Best Friends in it. (or TRY). Is Comedy Central pussing out, or doing the "right" thing?
DaForce

Um...I actually fell asleep during part 2.
They kept mentioning how Family Guy wasn't preachy but just a bunch of jokes strung together without a plot, oh, I don't know...about 50 times in the first 15 minutes. I think that was what lulled me to sleep...the repetitiveness of it all.
So it was actually a first for me....I stayed awake through a whole episode of Dr. Who, and fell asleep halfway through South Park.
